HD-xa2 and Denon 2308

Just got a new receiver and wanted to make sure I had my xa2 set correct. When using hdmi out should I have it set at pcm or can I just leave it auto?

Does your Denon receiver decode the HD audio formats DtHD, DD+ & DTS-HD MA?

If it does leave it in AUTO I think for Bitstream, unless there is another setting for bitstreaming. I think there is with the 2.7 firmware update.

If you leave it in AUTO it will decode the HD formats and pass the standard audio soundtracks for your receiver to decode the standard ones.
