Default A35 -- on some movies, video freezes & audio continues...

... after forwarding or clearing all by itself, the audio and video are then out of synch... typically the audio is ahead.

This has happened I believe on about 1/2 of the HD-DVDs I've watched. Just updated the firmware yesterday on my HD-A35, and it happened again on The Kingdom (which was a multi-format DVD from NetFlix).

It's never happened on a standard DVD, only when playing an HD DVD. I'm pretty sure last time it happened was also on a multi-format DVD as I gave up stopping, turning off, etc., and flipped to the standard DVD side & watched with no issues.

My system is all hooked up properly, all HDMI... any ideas? I've searched the forum and found 1 or 2 posts with freezes, but didn't seem to show any audio-video synch issues.

THanks!

Sure sounds like a firmware issue. What is your current firmware on that A35?

Default Firmware version is 2.0/1.1...

disk from Toshiba just arrived and was uploaded successfully yesterday prior to playing The Kingdom... the same thing happened on other disks prior to uploading.

I've confirmed thru the setup screen that the new version of firmware "took", and I also re-initialized prior to watching.

Try clearing the persistent storage entries.

Rarely I have gotten a out of sync issue, but not very often myself. The easy way to solve it is to pause the movie then play again. On the rare occasion things have gotten out of sync this always worked for me.

Good luck!

Default Thanks... my persistant storage has been "off", but I'll try clearing it...

... just can't imagine there would be anything in there if it was always "off" (or not enabled).

Bookmarks and persistent storage can be two different things. I assume that it is bookmarks that you have turned off. I wonder if having that turned off could be causing some of your issues too.

Good luck!

Default Persistent storage

How do you clear the persistent storage out on the A35?
