Cool Trouble is brewing in Smurfville...

Blu-ray.com doesn't deal too well with rumors that favor HD DVD ...

I was rading that thread and couldn't stop laughing I have been trolling the BR.crap waters for over a week as Blubyyou LOL. Anytime they had a story or tale about how great BR was I asked why and made comments to the HD DVD stuff for quite some time I had them all going hook line and sinker LOL.

It's like election night 2004 on Democratic Underground over there. Mass suicides pending.

I liked this one:

Quote:
"But the surprise departure last month of Steve Nickerson, Warner Home Video's senior vice president for High-Definition, has raised speculation that the studio may be reconsidering its policy. Nickerson was an outspoken booster of the two-format approach in the high-def war."

I thought I read that Nickerson was an outspoken booster of HD-DVD?

So I don't think I will read anything into this garbage, the Swanni, will never be the Swami!
The idea of Nickerson being an HD DVD booster (and thus the only reason WB ever pressed an HD DVD in the first place) was pure speculation on the internet with nothing to back it up other than that he used to work for Toshiba years ago--as if workers retain company loyalty like that in America.

More juicy fanboyism:

Quote:
hate the thought of those stupid combo discs! Grrrr!

Anyways, no worries though, cause Universal is on the verge of declaring format neutrality anyways! Right?!
Quote:
I would be utterly shocked if the BDA is just sitting back watching. There are too many of the greatest companies in the world in the BDA, with some of the greatest marketing minds in the world to think that they are collectively sitting in the break room drinking coffee while HD-DVD is courting Warner and god knows who else. I think it is fairly safe to assume that both sides are running wide open in preparation for this holiday season, and that both sides are trying to tie up exclusive agreements, be it from retailers, studios, or McDonalds Happy Meal executives.
Of course, he probably said the same thing about the PSP and PS3. "It's Sony! It'll be huge! They won't make mistakes....."

Quote:
if bd falls, most of us will be done with hd.
just rent dvd or get hd cable.
He's so emotionally/politically/religiously invested in the format war that if his beloved Sony doesn't win, he's just going to turn his back on HD DVD!

As much as I love HD DVD, Toshiba, and low prices, if HD DVD fell tomorrow I'd start saving for a BD player--because guess what? I want to own copies of movies in HD. If I can get it on my inexpensive, stable format of choice, the better. If not, I can still cope. I don't take my ball and run home crying to MAMA!

Quote:
Blu-ray only users, and hybrid users...

PLEASE - PLEASE, do not lay your hands on the filthy HD DVD release of Transformers. I know its tempting with low prices or for those currently with 2 players - but it will hurt in the end!

Support Blu-ray, do NOT buy Transformers, it will backfire eventually if we all do.

If you are hardcore, I suggest that you like me, will no longer buy any Paramount DVD or watch any of their releases in the theater.

18 months in hell Paramount, I hope you got a lot of money under the table for this.
Wow. I remember similar meltdowns on PS3 boards in late 2006, when the dust started clearing and people realized that the mighty Playstation was LAST in the console war.

Wow, I won't be surprised if there are mass suicide if Blu-Ray falls. Those posts are incredible. I have never seen anything like that.

That website is creepy. . .

I don't even like going there. It has become almost like a cult. I almost expect open violence to erupt between them and HD DVD supporters.

This sort of stuff is pathetic - they're almost like religious fundamentalists. I've seen HD DVD fanboys as well, but that site takes the cake.

When I talked to a high-up Sony Pictures Home Entertainment exec, even he rolled his eyes when I mentioned Blu-ray.com.

These are the guys who use phrases like "Fellowship of the Blu" and "Keep the faith". As you say, it's just a video format. I get the idea that HD DVD fanboys don't love their own format half as much, they simply love watching how much the other side celebrates theirs to such a ridiculous extent.

OMG don´t ever tell them that! This could cause serious psychological harm!

This war wouldn´t be half the fun it is without the blu cheerleaders.
