Pardon my ignorance, but can someone explain to me the difference between 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3 HDMI cables? When are these 1.3 cables coming out? Thank you.

I have seen 1.3 cables advertised.

There is no difference in the cables. . . All HDMI cables are compatible wih the three versions of HDMI. Another read to understand the differences especially Deep Color which has to have an HDMI 1.3 equipped monitor and a source of DC like an HD Disc or a HD program - none exist today.

I figured it was hype. Manufacturers will say anything to get you to upgrade.
