HVD seems to beat the crap out of blu-ray and hd-dvd.......
"one HVD can store more than 200G of data, or the equivalent of more than 40 of today's DVDs, and eventually will be able to store more than 1.3TB. " http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1759,1759907,00.asp I think the possibilities for this technology are far greater than that of blu-ray or hd-dvd. This article simply says blue-ray and hd-dvd are blown away by this technology. http://dvd.ign.com/articles/590/590428p1.html Chime in with what you think. |

Within the context of movies, it's not very compelling since none of the major studios have any plans to release their titles on this standard. For data storage, assuming recorders become cost-effective, this may be an attractive option.

the B/Hollywood crowd are busy devising ways to prevent copy ! it'd suit them fine to go along with a super confidential standard. Don't expect them to make it easy to have their whole catalogs on a single media!
