Default The Triplettes of Belleville

This is an animated 2003 French release, about 80 minutes long and available from xploited.com. Although it has no English subtitles, there are only about 4 lines of dialogue in the entire movie, none of which are essential in understanding what's going on. This is a throwback to traditional animation, and let me tell you, they did an amazing job. The detail is incredible for hand drawn animation, and this I think will put any classic Disney movie to shame. The movie is very different, very funny and very well done. It's definitely not a kids movie either and I highly recommend it.

movie: 4.5
PQ: 5
AQ: 4
Extras: NA (unless you speak French )

Everyone is giving this animated film great marks across the board, it gives me high hopes for older animation that will likely make its way to an HD format..

I dont own any imports but I might get this as it would be cool to watch with my little brother and nephews..

It's a great, but pretty awkward film. Not sure, if the story is really suitable for children tbh.

Was a double dip for me, the SD DVD is nice as well.

PQ is really good, recommended.

HDD put a review up for it today. This movie is a little awkward, uneven and strange, but partly I think it's intentional and also it's because it's French. I wouldn't watch it with young children as it has some really wicked humor in it and other content not suitable for young viewers.

Sounds really interesting, definitely one I'll be keeping an eye on later in the year when I've got more disposable income again.
