First of all, I am not worked up, this is funny to me. The same HD DVD supporters that complain Blu-ray prices are too high are willing to pay $30 for this movie? It is funny to read the discussion about the film, that is for sure. This film isn't suitable for an HD release is my conclusion, not even at $5, much less $30. The Echo Bridge Blu-ray releases I paid a little less than $3.50 each for at least were mostly suitable for HD.

I am not convinced the film will actually be released on HD DVD but we will know within a couple of months.

Well most of the 500 copies have been sold and all buyers have had their CC accounts charged already. Since 500 was deemed to be sort of a break even point and being very likely all will be sold, it's a certainty that this will indeed come out since the funds are there to make it happen.

I am in on this HD DVD. for one main reason the plot of this movie takes place in a town just over the hill from where I live.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Plot:
When the US gov't tests a highly secret nerve gas on the residents of Hagerstown, MD the side effects bring down a world of horrors for 6 strangers trapped inside a movie theater.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
if they didn't change the names on some of the places I may enjoy watching some old stomping grounds on the hd dvd.

Only 500 discs will be released however.

What sucks is I didn't realize that a "new" release was coming out, I have been scouring the ebay autcions for some time getting titles that I would want in a HD collection without having to pay the Blu-Ray price (even though I do buy blu-rays when there is a new title). It has been a while since I have been on the forum I have been getting and watching movies......

So if anyone knows if there are still copies to be had please post the link, if it looks like something that I like (and I like Zombie movies Resident Evil Series & Shaun of Dead just to name a few), it will become part of my collection hopefully....

This is not stupid at all. I'm collecting HD-DVD in droves right now. Moreover, the director clearly states in one of his post that he hasn't ruled out an Blu-ray release. I'll tell you one thing though. He also clearly stated that there will be so much extra material on the HD-DVD that the blu-ray version(if he ever releases it on that format) will never have. Please read his entire opinion about why he chose this format. He just preferred it was his exact words. I love blu-ray as well, but HD-DVD is still a great format in my honest opinion. There are some rare great titles that I have not seen on blu-ray yet. No disrespect.
