HD DVD Owners Group

Group Created by PFC5

This is a private group for just long time owners of the HD DVD format to have private group talks.

Call it a "therapy group" now that HD DVD has been abandoned.

To listen to bmore you would think that Paramount's decision was just another day and that all the BD only fans just said "No prob, I'll just buy the DVD".

After Paramount, I was sure another studio would likely go at least neutral, but Sony bet too much of the company on BD, and it never came to pass.

I did have insider tell me in advance (the night before) that Warner was announcing their decision on 1/4/08, and I posted it around 4am that morning. Despite what many have said about there being no payoff to Warner/Fox, I believe it did happen, based on what this insider told me.

But that is water under the bridge at this point I guess.

I knew HD DVD couldn't win the war. Not with Sony betting the company on the success of BD.

But I still feel that HD DVD would have been the answer to mass adoption of an HDM format - something I do not believe BD can ever accomplish - no matter what the soothsayers . . er, excuse me . . analysists say.

It had everything it needed to replace DVD. BD does not and never will.

I am contemplating waiting for the format that will replace both DVD and BD before I buy into another format. The way technology is moving - it won't be too long.

You mean if you report ME to ME?

I guess I could ban myself, but I think it unlikely.

So what happens if I report you PFC5?

This is a little off topic, well it's not at all on topic but I just finished off 2 lbs of ribs, lol. There's a company near the Canadian border that makes pork ribs for higher end restauraunts. They are the ends and other pieces that didn't look right. They sell 20lb boxes for $40. They are pre cooked and smothered in their own sauce. They have three flavors of sauce, regular BBQ, a hickory smocked, and my fav a spicey BBQ. They flash freeze them in 3 1/2 lbs packages.

My GF works the night shift so the only help I had with the ribs was the puppies, what she doesn't know wont hurt her, . The beer was all mine though. Too bad I have to work tomorrow.

OK back to HD DVD, I second Bruce as our chairman.
