The only movie I never get tired of is The Good, The Bad And The Ugly. I don't know what it is about that movie. But I never get tired of it. And I've seen it at least 25 times.

Doesn't have the punch it use to

I am finding this issue alot - for some time.

I mean how many times can you watch a movie and "get into it?" Sure there are a few . . . but 50? 100?

"I have the Godfather Trilogy box set on SD... To me.. SD is a good enough for that type of movie."

You are probably right. But I was reading where the Blu-Ray version solves a lot of issues with some dark scenes.
Other thing is- I have seen the Trilogy at least 8 times. Doesn't have the punch it use to.

Most of the stuff I'm buying looks dam good on my XA2 as well. There are a couple Blu-Rays that I would like to have. Like Godfather and Dark Knight. But the SD version might just have to do. If LOTR came out on Blu-Ray... well...
I'll cross that bridge when it gets here.

Don't the Three Stooges look awesome for as old as they are? They were cleaned up a lot. And in chronological order this time. There are so many crap versions of the Three Stooges out there it's not even funny.
I think Rawhide could look better. But it is what it is.

Bruce, I have come to the conclusion that SD played via my XA2 looks damn good. Sure, I am missing marginally better PQ and AQ but my wallet sure likes the price difference and I am able to watch all the Criterion's I have received now.

The more I hang around the main HDM room with those defenders, the less I am prone to buy BDs other than a choce few. For big action, some sci fi and a few odd others movies.. BD works great, for comedies and dramas (which I watcha lot of) SD is good enough and I don't feel like I am missing anything.

I have all of those as well and they make excellent viewing material. Like you, I still have a ton of DVDs to watch. I've been happy with the PQ so far, so there's no reason not to be later, even if I'm aware that a better version exists.

The angle key only works on those movies that have different camera angles imbedded in the disc. Mostly porn titles have that feature AFAIK.

Has anyone used the "Angle" key on the remote and what movies does it actually work on? I've tried it on several and it has never seemed to work on anything yet.
