HD DVD Owners Group

Group Created by PFC5

This is a private group for just long time owners of the HD DVD format to have private group talks.

Call it a "therapy group" now that HD DVD has been abandoned.

Although I have never done Netflix I certainly should. It would save me a lot of money.

Yeah Stew, I need to get wise to Netflix and stop contributing so much green to a 'flush fund'. I'm gonna finish out my HD DVD collection, get my BD Criterion and Netflix the rest.

I hardly buy any HDM anymore and mostly Netflix everything, with some exceptions. It saves a lot of money and my wife is not as interested in watching movies like she once was, and cares more about jogging, health club etc, so we don't watch as many as we use to either.

IMO . . . HDM is late to the HD party. About 3 years late. It should have come out in 2003. Now there are so many ways for the consumer to get HD content.

And I just can't see the consumer, in general, being concerned about every little line of resolution or every pixel that BD offers over the other HD delivery systems.

Bruce, I rarely buy any new titles. Netflix works great for me. I spent a ton on HDM too. Those thousands I spent on it owuld sure look good in my savings account right now... sigh

Yeah, Netflix looks like it will have a Blu future in my household, what with all I've spent on HDM so far. If I ever get around to watch those 7 Blu-ray titles I have in shrink wrap, I think I'll give it a whirl again.

I like it when they talk about the future of Blu-Ray and then mention Netflix rentals.

I agree with your post. But the Blu Bots really do need something to really cheer about. And it is definitely not worth getting into an argument with them about it.

I just don't see BD being the sucess that everyone hopes it will be and wants it to be.

And we already know that J6P is not as stupid or ignorant as many here make him out to be.

I love how the guys like to post that Ironman sold (could sell) 20% of the DVD market and basing that as an indication of how well BD is doing. IMO, one title does not a format make. I fully expect Dark Knight to sell very well on BD too. I don't like them (The BDA) using %'s either.. but it's what they have always done and it sure worked to knock off HD DVD.

Bravestime seems to be doing a good job with the news threads - though listing many of the new releases as threads is clogging up the forum . . . IMO.

A see alot of Ra Ra BD articles - but most of them are nothing more than marketing/sales oriented. How do I know that? Well - because they are STILL using %'s when they discuss sales of BD titles. If they were truly outstanding - we would be told the numbers . . . instead of %'s. Again - IMO.

Just been spending less time posting at HDF. I read the threads - many are informative - and I guess I have nothing to add.

I do try to post at least one new news thread on HDF per day, but sometimes - there just isn't any new news to post.
