Im not saying people wont be excited for the new halo game, because lets face it, its halo, but the times they are a changing

That'll be interesting. It would certainly suggest Microsoft exclusive portfolio's value to consumes and for sales is diminishing ever more.

You may not understand the purpose of Halo. It is the best console exclusive IP in the biz now. It prints $$ on the name alone. Thus MS wants to take the brand to another level, like lucas did with $W. Halo and COD can comfortably coexist because they serve different purposes. Halo drives 360 sales, since you can only experience it on XB. That is the reason why it won't come to PC. To this day, Halo 3 still is selling pretty well for a title that has been out for almost 2 years. It has outsold every PS3 exclusive FPS combined. Thus both "big fish" can swim safely in the 360 ocean

It's actually not so much a hype train, but Halo has a very loyal following. I heard some things about ODST that disappointed me. I was told that the campaign is only 3-4 hours long, but there are lots of multiplayer maps. This was supposed to be DL content, but it was changed to a separate disk. Now if this is true about the campaign, I surely am unhappy with the $60 price tag, we'll see. If Reach is like say a Halo 4, then all the excitement will be back again.

I think Reach is a prequel. Halo 4 will prob be a launch next-gen title.

ODST was supposed to a $40 affair with a short campaign, however that was 8-10 months ago. Now the Campaign is longer and Firefight has been added and not only do you get every map ever released for Halo 3 MP but you also get 3 new maps that can not be found anywhere else but on this disc as well as an invite to Halo:Reach beta in 2010.. That makes it worth $60 imo

That's right, I forgot about the Reach beta. Agreed.
