Sony HAS denied this rumor. But that really doesn't matter does it? This applies to any business, once a rumor is out, there's nothing to stop it from taking hold and becoming truth in the eyes of the reader. Even if the rumor was started by a 13 yr old twerp in a basement.

Here are some previous ones:

The original PSP2 "concept" art from March of 2008:

An article from Cnet in 2006:

http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-6449_7-6628525-1.html

Note that the wish list at the bottom is almost completely included in the PSPGo.

An article in Gizmodo from 2006 that says the PSP2 is definitely coming out in 2007.

http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/portable-...psm-197717.php

An article from March 2007 saying the PSP2 is coming out late 2007:

http://www.pocketables.net/2007/03/sony_psp2_comin.html

Etc, etc, etc. Seems the PSP2 rumors from 2006 have gained a life of their own thanks to people who have decided it's real.

looks very similar to the go, only with the controls from the side rather than the top.

The PSP Go is definitely intended to be more of an all round portable multimedia device than a games console, I think it's poised directly to compete with the iPhone/iPod etc market. As I said I really want one, I love the idea of the games all being accessed from the console itself.

So taking that into consideration and that the OP states that the image is also an "artist rendering" that came out well before the Go was introduced, doesn't it make sense that the rumors flying around now are actually just re-hashes of the original PSP2 rumors that actually turned out to be the Go instead of the PSP2?

I agree, I think the Go is going to be presented to compete with the Ipod and the ZuneHD. Seems that's the target market to me. BUT, the big blunder that Sony will probably make with the Go is that it will not have the same easy of sync support that the ipod and the Zune have. I've heard the media deal for the PSP is pretty good, but to fully appreciate it you have to buy the full version. (Yeah, typical Sony) Why? If they want to compete with ipod and zune, bundle the full release with the Go.

The PSP2 is still a rumour, has been forever. Even if it is coming that picture isn't real so it could look completely different. And they'll always deny it right up to announcing it's launch... pretty much every business would do that.

Media Manager is gone and has been replaced with Go! Media which is free and available for download from Sony. I haven't tried the program out myself yet but Sony is at least not charging for it which is a plus.

I didn't know that. I might actually have to give it a try.

Of course they are working on a PSP2, to believe they werent is as crazy as thinking that Nintendo isnt already doing R&D on a Wii2, Sony on a PS4 etc.

I dont know why people are going nuts over the PSPgo when Nintendo has already released 3 versions of the DS. And heres a crazy prediction.. they'll announce another handheld(completely new and/or an update) again next year.

My guess is that MS will release one also.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a Zune branded game console, heck I'd probably pick one up.

I think Microsoft will be too busy fighting for home console presence in the next 2 years to want to enter the portable market. I think they'll be waiting for the "next gen" of handhelds before dipping their toes in.

If the Media Go is anything like their picture motion browser that comes with their HD cameras, it will be a surprisingly easy and incredibly useful tool. Otherwise, it will probably suck. LOL!

I keep telling people I fought using PMB with my camera for 6 months. Then I realized how useful it actually is and kicked myself for not using it sooner.

Hmmm, didn't MS co-develop a mobile HD chipset with Intel (not positive about Intel though) a while back? That HD Zune might make a good handheld gaming unit.

So far, I'm impressed. I mean, it's not the best thing ever to hit the pc world. But it's easy to use and does what it's supposed to. I like that it will automatically transcode videos to play on the PSP. I transfered an AVI file and it transcoded it ti mp4. I'll let you know more when I play more.

Hmm.... guess I'll have to download it myself and play around with it. Sounds fairly functional, and you can't argue with the price! Wonder if it can convert some of my BRRips
