just played the demo 5 times in a row (its too short) anyway, graphics and sound are both top notch, especially the sound, the echo of the guns firing reminds me of the movie black hawk down. The controls are definetly heavy as descibed above and will take a few minutes to get used to (especially if your an avid call of duty player) and the cover system works really well and is a necessity if you dont want to die. I was definetly gonna get this game either way but now im sure that this game will be awesome.

The L3 and R3 buttons are the rubber sticks, right?

I haven't played the demo yet. Just the Show demo.

Yes the l/r3 buttons are the analog sticks. I've been using the alternate 2 controller setup which is most like CoD (I like using the triggers to shoot and such) but the only issue with that is that the crouch/cover button is always L2. Unless you're like me and play with a finger on both trigger buttons (on one side) it could be a real PITA.

The ps3 is cool, but I really wish it was like the 360 controller.

You have to buy those clunky $5 triggers to fit onto the plastic L2 and R2 buttons.

thats the same exact control layout im using, without a doubt its the best set up, alt 2 plus zoom on hold plus increaseing the X and Y sensitivity!

no its not wrong, though you did beat me cause i only played through it about 5 times, each time i play through it its just simply amazing, and yes its true each time you get better and better, i'll be using this demo as a practice for when the real game comes out

if you ever played cod4, its the same thing, in cod4 you use the L3 button to run. more then likely your probably just not fully use to it, my character runs each time i hit the L3 but you can only use it in certain moments like in COD4, for example if you are couch down or against a wall and zoomed in to shoot, you cant run from that position so dont try pressing the L3 at the sametime while you have all those other buttons press. its the same thing in cod4(ps3)

Yep!
The thing is, on CoD, you can hip shoot and kill someone, so reloading was never an issue. Heck, I even reload after almost every burst on CoD anyway, just to have a full clip.
This game is so immersive, I never even remember to reload until I'm out!

you can hip shoot in KZ2 also and still kill many enemies too, of course not if their really far away. i do agree that its so intense that one can easily forget to reload, i reload after every shot fired in cod4 also, but also in cod4 the amount of ammo a weapon holds is much much less then the rifle in KZ2. so theres less of a reason to have to reload after every shot fired in kz2 compare to cod4.

Otherwise it might simply be down to 'getting used to it'. I'll add more suggestions as I think of them.

Note, these are simply suggestions to see if we can help make the experience better. If we need to patch something in to sort this out we'll do so. Not the end of the world.

i have experienced ZERO controller lag, right now to me this game is flawless, though someone on the playstation killzone 2 boards mentioned the option of having toggle couch instead of holding down the L2, though im loving holding down the L2 to couch and cover, the added option of removing the hold feature for some users wouldnt hurt.

F91- so alternate 2 is COD controls? The controls were the hardest part for me... I'm so used to COD4 and Resistance 2.

you got it mate, the only difference is that in KZ2 you have a melee attack AND a knife attack, the R3 is for the melee attack(e.g. resistance) but to use the actual knife you need to prett the right D-pad to change over to the knife, then you use the regular fire button to attack with the knife. this part i do wish the devs would have left out the melee attack and just kept the knife attack and then just use the R3 for the knife attack (ala cod4).. but whatever, we cant have it all so. i LOVE using the knife in cod4 but i was NEVER a fan of using the rifle melee attacks like the one in resistance 1.

Triggers are one of my dislikes of the ds3 also, but I make do.

A guy I know was having really bad lag on CoDWAW. He had his 360 set to output in 1080i only and I guess it was his tv lagging.

Also if that was 1200MB worth of gaming on just that little section it makes me wonder how much space the entire game takes on a Blu Ray.

Well the Heavenly Sword demo was over 1gb, and even shorter. The full game was maybe 5 hours game at most. Xplay says the KZ2 campaign takes about 10 hours to finish once.

That is short but I'm still definitely picking it up on day one. This is the first PS3 exclusive that has me excited to play. Hopefully the multi-player keeps rolling along after the hype fades.

From what I've seen of the demo, it seems they are pushing a lot of textures on screen.

Using my overly critical eye I noticed a good amount of low detail textures, but the kind that are only noticed when you are openly looking for them.

I'd say it had the most varying textures I've seen in a console FPS to date. The FEAR 2 demo I tried on the PS3 looked awful (really flat) when compared to Killzone 2.

Anyone know if this game will require an install? My guess is it will, unless they are pulling some crazy Naughty Dog shit and are using the PS3 hardware efficiently.
