Question I'm a lttle confused aboutXbox 360 resolutions.

Ok I have an old xbox 360 it does not have a HDMI port so I have it connected with a component cable.

So first will component display 1080P? Or is the highest component will go is 720P?

I have been told so many things about what resolution xbox 360 plays in. People have told me that the native resolutionfor xbox 360 games are 720P and turning your xbox 360 to 1080P wont do anything since the game is displayed in 720P.

Is that true? Then why do the back of the game case it says 720P,1080i,1080P?

So is it true that games only run 720P?

I'm just confused lol maybe you guys can clear it up for me lol.

Yes you can get 1080p from component. And it will display in 1080p but it will be upscaled. Almost no games are true 1080p (just a few on the PS3 that I know of) like COD4 which is like 600p or something like that but the 360 upscales it to whatever resolution you select.

the most important thing about 1080P through component is not all tv's accept that signal over analog even though they have 1080P capability through HDMI.

and also as stated in the previous posts the games say 720P 1080i and 1080P most are truly in 720p, and depending on the size of your TV unless over 40-42" your eye can't really tell the difference between 720P and 1080P

I have a 42' 1080P LCD T.V. look in sig I have my 360 set to 1080P so my T.V. does accept that single over analog!
