Electronic Arts announced today that a free downloadable demo of Dead Space will be launched tomorrow, November 25, just in time for Thanksgiving holiday buyers to get a taste of the critically acclaimed sci-fi action game. Below is the press release with the announcement:

Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:ERTS) announced today that a free* downloadable demo for the award-winning videogame Dead Space™ will be launched on November 25th. The stunning demo showcases the critically acclaimed combat and strategic dismemberment of the epic sci-fi action game. The demo comes just in time for holiday gift buyers to get a taste of the gore and action that has made the game a critical and commercial hit. why are you going to try the demo when you own the game LOL!..

anyway, im only in chapter 3 into this game, i would have been further if it wasnt for pacific rift and then KZ2 beta.. but i still love DS! scary goddam fucking game.. i only play it like 30mins at a time, then again im playing it at midnight with all the lights off in my pitch black living room with the 5.1 surround going!.... .. damn stupid falling wrenchs always make me turn around (you'll know what im talking about once you play the game LOL)

theres alot of "pop" in this game so your always jumping out of your seat for somethign stupid like a creature that pops out in front of you or something.. but its alot of fun. story is solid, controls are solid, graphics are killer.. but by far the sound is the best part of it... enjoy the demo

No idea, I guess just to see. I am about 1/2 I think through chapter 3. So far have only used the plasma cutter. Feels weird to have not even fired any of the other weapons that I found schematics for.

i found 2 more schematics the other nite i was playing, havent found out what they are yet. i do agree alittle about using the plasma cutter most of the time.. thats what i use, i purchase the line cutter (sick freaking weapon!) and i use that sometimes too especially for harder, stronger and faster creatures.. i found afew of those in chapter 2 and 3, they would pop out and run fast as hell towards you. but the ammo is more limited since the weapon can only hold 6 line cutter rounds at a time and at first the line ammo is hard to come by but as you play more, you find more. the plasma cutter is good for getting those limbs off .. i want to get the other weapons, so far the store offers the machine gun type weapon (which i find will be useless since your goal is to dislimber creatures) and the other weapon is a flame thrower? not sure whats that doing in the game but i want to try them out.. i do agree that you can go a long way into the same with just using the plasma cutter, theres even a trophy you get if you beat the game using ONLY the plasma cutter, however i do believe that once you get into the later chapters.. it'll get harder.. remember we're only in chapter 3.. and theres like 12 chapters i believe, i can imagine once i get after chapter 5 or 6, its going to get tougher

Thats exactly the situation im in, i want the game but there is soooo much other games and movies coming out it got lost in the shit blizzard, but hopefully the demo will push me over the edge into a purchase

Mirrors Edge is fun, but its a one trick Pony. The campaign is kinda short (like most games these days) and even though its fun I say this is a rent at best, while Dead Space is a buy..

Nope, but its a refreshing take on a first person runner, this game is not meant in anyway to be a shooter, in fact one of the achievements on the 360 is to go through the entire game without shooting one weapon.. You can still kick peoples asses, but running away or around trouble is the whole point of the game..

I got 800/1000 points for Dead Space on the 360. Anyone do better?

Only achievements I didn't get were:

One Gun (use Plasma Cutter for entirety of game)
Epic Tier 1 Engineer (complete on insane)
and a secret achievement (which is get past meteor shower with more than 50% hull integrity remaining)

Anyone beat me?!?!?! I had to go through the game 1 3/4 times as you can't max out all weapons during one play through

Played the demo a little bit, I got creamed pretty quick but I was too tired to be on top of it. Will give it another go this weekend, but looks pretty promising so far.
