Interesting that PS3 users are having more problems, esp since it has the mandatory install. 360 has no install.

http://www.gamespot.com/news/6190136...ewstop;title;1
Last month, the launch of Rockstar Games' Bully on the Xbox 360 was marred by a bevy of crash bugs and other glitches. With this morning's heavily anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto IV for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Rockstar finds itself dealing with still more troubleshooting trouble, as online forums are buzzing with reports of crashes.

Combing through crash threads on the Xbox.com forums, Sony's official message boards, GameSpot, and the NeoGAF forums, it seems that the issues are affecting PlayStation 3 users more frequently, although gamers with both systems are reporting problems. Reports of crashes on the 60GB version of the PS3 hardware are the most common, and tech support advice like deleting and re-installing the game doesn't appear to address the issue effectively.

I've only had one issue so far. I had just smacked some dude in the face and ran down a back alley. When he caught up I pulled my gun out and shot him in the head. After he fell to the ground I put a few more rounds in him for fun.

At which time after the 3rd shot it locked up on me. I thought the game froze or something and hit the PS button. Nothing happened so I was just getting ready to reset it then the PS screen flashed up. I exited it back to the game and it played fine.

My guess they will have a patch out shortly to take care of whatever glitches people are experiencing. I'm on a 40GB version if that matters.

wow.. seems its getting alittle more serious then expected. so its more common on the old 60gig models huh.. this reminds me of when assassins creed first came out and it keep freezing up on like half of every users system (knock on wood, my AC never froozed, not once!). i wonder if its something serious or just a small bug... im assuming rockstar will be coming out with a patch shortly.

Yes, it does seem that your reports have the same "fair and balanced" flavor as another hack network.

Funny thing is, yesterday when I picked my copy up for PS3 at Gamestop, I asked them about the issues with the game for both systems. The guy told me that there were no issues with the PS3 version, all the complaints and freezing were with the 360 version. So it depends on who you talk to. I've had my copy freeze up once and I own a 60 gig from launch. Other than that no problems.

Haha, I was going to point out the same part of his post, thanks for doing it for me. I love how he says he's "fair and balanced", yeah, just like Fox News.

PS3 60GB Launch unit, no problems! WooT!

Another bullet dodged, I never got that weird R&C problem either.

Oh well. Sucks to be the minority with glitches.

LIKE ME.

60GB launch PS3. Tried to play twice tonight, froze up both times. Right away, too. First time was during the cutscene when you first get to the apartment. My PS3 froze so I let it cool down, turned it back on a couple minutes later started up the game, skipped the cutscene, walked out of the apartment and BAM! froze up again. I'm pissed off. Good thing I didn't buy it, just renting atm.

Has Rockstar mentioned anything about a patch yet?

Except that Foxnews has actually been proven by independent and bipartisan non profit organisations that rate the level of bias a new network has, to be most in the centre of all networks. Try watching it, as you can evaluate it for yourself. Centers like the MRC.org have repeatedly found that Foxnews gives equal weighting in terms of coverage and air time to all issues. They also found that Foxnews was more likely to equally use attatchments like left wing and right wing versus networks like CBS that used right wing to identify republicans far more often than they used left wing to describe democrats.

You have my sympathy guy. I can't imagine how upset if I pick up GTA on Friday and find out I can't play it. I already went through this CRAP with Bully for the X360, and had to wait for them to finally fix it.

http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/16384/...llion-to-Make/

Here is an interesting article that is short, so I won't quote it here. For a game that costs $100 million to make, they sure as hell didn't spend it debugging it from all the problems we are hearing of.

There is a thread over at AVS stating *R has been working OT to fix the issues and should have a patch out soon, maybe Thur/Frid.
