I'm not an achievement whore nor do I store trophies in my house. However take this into consideration -

There is an active thread right now that someone started to "list all the games you've beaten". Yay. Achivements brought a whole new challenge to the market. For certain games when I see 1000/1000 I know the person has talent. I have more respect for those folks than someone who simply played an easy campaign for no other reason but to pave the easiest path to an ending.

It's gonna be awesome. Also, I am plotting out where I want to move too. I just recently found out that I have French citizenship and I am considering moving over to Europe for a time to establish roots in a different culture.

Anyways that was way off-topic. Sorry.
Awesome! You're gonna have such a good time. Roma and Paris are 2 of my favorite places in Europe. I'm so jealous.

Barcelona is fun too. If you get some extra time into that busy schedule, take the ferry from Barcelona to Ibiza and stay for a few days. It's paradise!

I'll look into that.

That is... if we don't go broke first. The dollar to euro conversion is killing me right now.

I'd rather go by what the maker of the game said....

http://www.gamesradar.com/ps3/grand-...13153735796095
It's no secret that the long-ago announced downloadable episodes for Grand Theft Auto IV will be exclusive to the Xbox 360 version of the game. According to Rockstar Games spokesman Hosi Simon, however, there won't be any consolation prizes for those who choose to buy the PlayStation 3 edition instead. When asked during a preview of the game (which you can read about here, if you haven't already) whether there would be any advantage to owning the PS3 version that could rival the 360's exclusives, Simon said, "not that I can think of."

"They're identical games," Simon continued. "We're not hardware makers, and we're not like a pawn between these companies, we try not to be as much as we can. We make great games for people to enjoy on whichever system they want.

"But I guess if you want the complete experience with the episodes, then yeah, you should buy the 360, I suppose," Simon said.

Obviously you haven't been paying attention to what all multiplatform developers have been saying this gen. They always say the games look the same, but as you know, they don't. The 360 is always the superior version with better graphics and framerate.

I thought the Xbox 360 was the lead platform? The 360 project was certainly ahead of the PS3 one for the most part, and all early builds demonstrated via vids etc were of the 360 version. I think it was actually a simultaneous development using the same assets, rather than a port to either console.

If given the choice Id want the achievements.

At almost 6000, I consider my gamerscore much like my johnson; not huge, but respectable.

Anyways, like I said before the 360 version will sell more. We didn't need a poll to know this. The 360 total install base is over 18 million worldwide, the PS3 is hovering around 11.5 million.

Because of this it would be a miracle if GTAIV sold more on the PS3...
It just gives you a reason to keep playing. Gives you more purpose other than you're bored and there's nothing on TV. Video games like this should be played through more than once. Achievements just help you with that; make it a little more fun.

I remember in Halo: Combat Evolved, it gave you these small little medals next to each level when you beat it on a certain difficulty. I think I got at least one or two extra playthroughs just to get those completely filled out with all the normal, heroic, and legendary medals.

I love achievements. It gives me more goals in a game and adds replay value to it. Even if I win, the achievements are like secondary wins which I often will try to get.

Its this reason that I get any dual platform games on my 360.

I bet GTA4's home integration will be much more interesting than Lives achievements.

You Won! 60G
Complete the final mission.

I mean come on.. finish the game and you get 'gamerpoints'?
If they do home right it can potentially be like
Complete the final mission.
Access to new GTA themed clothing, furniture, posters, trophies to put into your penthouse.

the problem with home and all these trophies and things is that its just to much for other players to see what you have achieved. If im playing a game and want to see what you have i have to walk through your home and view all this stuff? on Xboxlive i can simpley 2 click and see everything i need to in a simple format. i think Sony is trying to do more than they can do at this time in a payless service. people want to play the games not walk around in a vertual world and look at rewards and dress up a usless avatar with cloths and things.

if you want all this stuff your better off buying a MMO and playing it.. becasue thats all this stuff is?

Agreed. I'd rather see something pleasing to the eye than numbers. Tbh, though, I don't really care about either. I like to play games to have fun, not to compete or show off. That's not to mean I didn't smile a little bit when I saw my Super Stardust HD score was much higher than most of the peole on my friends list.
