Resident Evil 5 footage to hit Japan next week!

The Capcom 25th Anniversary Special DVD, to be included with the issue of Weekly Famitsu that's due out on the 28th, will include features on Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G, some western games, and (drum roll please) Resident Evil 5.

That's right, after a long silence, the next entry in the Resident Evil series will be resurfacing. Capcom is promising exclusive footage and even an interview.

While we're not sure when this footage will be made public outside of the Famitsu bundle, at the very least, you can expect more details on the game in a few days.

The announcement of this DVD actually came through a special 25th anniversary page Capcom Japan set up at its website. This presumably means the start of a variety of promotions as the company's June 11 founding date approaches.

lets hope this footage is available to the public too.. im dieing to see it!

Finally!

Resident Evil is still the only survival horror game I have enjoyed. I really hope it turns out to be as good as RE4.

That said, Alone in the Dark is looking pretty awesome too.

Will this be for both systems?

The resident evil series is in my top3 of all time.

Still to this day the dobermans jumping through the window in the first game has to go down as one of the scariest things in a video game. I remember being in college playing it for the first time and i jumped right out of my seat.

Yes it is scheduled for 360 and PS3. IMHO Condemned is way more terrifying than RE.

silent hill series hands down beats RE series in terms of scariness.. what RE is great for is the action in it.. silent hill series was never about fast pace action and stuff like that but more of the environments and crazy looking monsters that just give you a werid feeling. RE series was also good for things popping up in your face and scaring you that way(e.g. dogs bursting through windows). where as SH series was more about the imagery of something very hellish.. i cant speak for condemned.. but i played the demo of part 2 and it sucks

Even if it was RE4 with better graphics, it would still be perfect.

Silent Hill is just CREEPY!!! But there are some truly jump out of your seat moments. In SH2, when you're seeing Pyramid Head for the first time, my heart was literally pounding. Or, "Am I really going to be able to beat this thing with a piece of wood" moments. Adrenaline pumping.

EXACTLY! and thats what SH series are known for.. .. your not some rockie cop or a member of some special arm force team.. your a ordinary guy(or girl) that portrays a normal ordinary person.. they dont have weapon skills and tactics, nope, you find a pipe and thats your weapon.. you take 10secs to load up your ammo on a cheap 9mm you found. then there you go.. thats what i love about SH games.. its you.. a stick of wood and fucked up looking creatures that look like they came straight out of hell.. creepy aint the word for it.. its just down right sick

That game scared the sh*t outta me on more than one occasion. No game has had a better atmosphere than SH2.

Oh man I remember the first time I played SH2, I've never been as scared as that game made me.

I'd love them to remake the SH Trilogy (didn't really "get" the 4th one) for next gen systems with maybe Origins chucked in for good measure.

I've read that Resident Evil 5 is actually being primed for an October release (Worldwide) and personally having utterly loved the 4th one I cannot wait. Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles has been a pleasant diversion too and Capcom are seriously on form at the moment so I think it could actually be THE game to watch this year.

sh2 was good.. but sh3 was hands down the best one i played.. its the one that the main character is the girl. man that one was killer!. .. SH4"the room" was... blah.. it was "ok" .. you can tell they where trying something different though. sh4 was not scary.. it was creepy but noting like sh2 or sh3. and they focused more on action in sH4 . .. i cant wait for SH5 HOLY CRAP.. silent hill in HD.. DAMMNNN! thats gonna scare the big jess out of me.

to bad i dont know what hes saying... and to bad itsnot in HD.. but its still something sweet.. seems like the game is going to have the similar RE4 camera angle... SWEET!!! the graphics look amazing! but im not digging the fact that the enviroments are to bright, it seems your playing in the middle of the afternoon.. there was NEVER a RE game that played anytime except night time and thats how it should be.. i think this game is probably just going to be all pure action and not scary.. how came i get scared if its the middle of the afternoon with the sun bright out.. that sucks.

Uh oh. This is a let down. This is really RE4:HD in Somalia.

I saw him shoot a guy in a white T-Shirt with a machine gun, no holes or blood stains on the T-Shirt. The bodies also dissolve after death live in RE4. I hope Capcom is reading this.
