Awesome. Found out RE5 takes place in Haiti and I did a term paper about Haitian voodoo and zombies so I have an idea of what the basis of what the zombies are going to be like. The scene where the guys eyes are bleeding makes sense to me now. I can't wait for this. Hopefully, it will outdo RE4 but that would be a big task. I hope they remake RE4 for HD consoles.

k, first breath.. then calm down.. your jumping the gun here.. its obvious what was shown is a kick ass early build. lets not rush to conclusions. we cant start assuming all this stuff about this game that we know very little of.

Yeah, but Capcom has a track record for recycling until the wheels fall off. Look at DMC4. I got it, and love it, but it's just a rehash. RE5 is looking the same way. I know it's an early build, but one would think that they would at least be able to put blood stains and holes in a T-Shirt. I wouldn't be shocked if this was running on the RE4 frame with HD graphics and bloom lighting.

Reminds me of that old movie "The Serpent and the Rainbow".

Same premise.

That wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing really though. I'd rather they worked more on the story and atmosphere, than the game engine as gameplay wise Resi 4 was pretty much spot on.

I bought and beat RE4 on GC, PS2, and Wii. So I'm a fan of the game to say the least.

I agree, but I want some next gen immersion. When I saw say the guy in the whit T-shirt get lit up by and SMG, and his shirt remained white and without holes, I was let down. I'll buy it if it's about hunting zombie beavers building shoddily constructed dams, and having to rebuild the shoddily constructive damn in a better manor.

But, I think immersion needs to be there. Especially for this type of game.

I've beaten RE4 3 times already on GameCube. I'll probably get it for PS2 so I can play it upscaled on my PS3, but it'll be a pain in the arse to play it without unlimited rocket launcher.

If Capcom can get RE5 this year, I'll forgive it for not having bullet holes in t-shirts but I want a RE6 this gen. If it comes out in 2009 or later, I'll be expecting some good stuff. Kamspy is right, gore just isn't being done right and with all this next-gen technology. We should be seeing more hit points, more variety of blood splatter, blood soaked clothes, holes, wounds, etc... maybe some exposed bone if needed, esp for headshots. This is a horror game afterall

Next-gen as a whole has honestly let me down for the most part. A few games standout as experiences that could not be had on last gen hard ware: Motorstorm from a physics standpoint, Rainbow 6 and COD4 from A.I. standpoints, and that's about it. The rest of the games we have so far are just shiny HD last gen games IMO. If I left any off my list, feel free to add to them.
