Definately sounds like artifacting (a side affect of a overheating GPU.)

Has this always happened or is it recent?

Try moving your 360 to a cooler area with more air flow. See if that helps.

Quick update to my last post:

I had to call Xbox again today because I never received my email with the printable shipping label. I did receive the email that you get telling you that you'll be receiving the shipping label by email within 24 - 48 hours. So I called them and they apologized about everything. I almost lost it when he asked me for the number on the back on my xbox. I told him that I had already packaged my xbox up and I wasn't going to open it back up. Luckily i still had my receipt from GameStop and on it was the number! Anyways i really hope i get that email tomorrow so i can get this thing fixed...Wish me luck

a. Locate the System section of the Xbox 360 Dashboard.
b. Select Memory, select Hard Drive, and then press Y to view the device options screen.
c. On the Xbox 360 Controller, press the X button, press the X button again, press the left bumper, press the right bumper, press the X button, and then press the X button again.
d. You will be prompted to confirm system maintenance, select Yes by pressing A.

Well my 360 just bit the dust, only a week before Gears of War 2. Why?

WONDERFUL.

Turned on my 360 this morning to realize that the console won't read game discs. I switch out and see the same thing with three other games of mine.

Essentially sits at "reading disc" then goes back to "Open Tray" on the dashboard. Of course my 1yr refurb warranty expired in July of this year.

I wanted an Elite at some point, but the DVD drive dying is Bullshiz.

It's times like this that make me want to wipe my ass with my stock certificates and go work as a PM at Google down the street.

Just call the support line and tell them it RRoD's sometimes.

I had the same problem. They swapped it out anyways.

Lying fixes everything.

I dunno if I can bring myself to do that. Will probably fix the shit and put it in the back bedroom. Just trying to figure what would be best to buy new.

I can get a new Elite for 350.00 but no "in-store" warranty. I know I need more than a 20GB HDD drive now. That and the newer chipset is my only real requirement now.

Mine RRoD'd about two weeks ago and I sent it in. It only took them about a week from when I sent it to send me a refurb. This was my 2nd time sending it in because of the RRoD
