any of you guys with heat problems try other cooling mods besides the ill fated Nyko intercooler??

I'm currently using the Intec Glo stand and found out that the 9v AC adapter that it comes with can be switched with a 12v since the fans support 12v. Instead of being forced to prop up my xbox360 console, I just laid it to rest on styrofoam supports:

I took off the grille just like another user had done because the grille restricts the air flow, so now I've got a steady and stronger fresh air stream going into my xbox360 and using the consoles interior fans to exhaust the hot air. So far I've had this 2nd console for about a year and no freezing!

That's a great mod/idea Guru, but don't you think it's a bit much to have to do all that when you're already paying $400 for the system?

not really. It pays for itself. It keeps me from shelling out another $400!!

What could be the problem where my 360 drive won't open sometimes...I have to jiggle it to be able to get it open and place a game in it?? any suggestions? I bought my 360 Nov 2006. Still have the receipt and the original box.

Thanks in advance

I had the same problem when I had mine standing up. Maybe improper mounting?

The only fix I could come up with was laying it down. Is it a premium or a core? Mine was a core, and every replacement they sent me had the same problem. Maybe it's just the core models.

When our 360 had the Red Ring of Death it took 3 calls and over a month for Microsoft to send out the shipping container and about a week door to door to get it back fixed from Dallas (120 miles). Great service.

Does anyone know if there's a way of adjusting the screen orientation (like on the Nintendo GameCube). I realize it's the TV's problem, not the 360's. I need to shift the picture 2-3 inches to the right.

It's the Premium system. Here is a pick. I don't have the room to lay it down though. As long as it doesn't get worse I really don't mind it. I really only play Halo 3 anyways so I rarely have to open it in the first place. Thanks for the help Kampsy!!

I have the same problem, doesn't happen often. I have mine laying down. If it happens I just use my finger nail onthe drive tray between the eject button and tray and push it to the right/pull it a tiny bit and it opens... Never really bothered w/ it beyond that.

Sounds like a GPU problem... how often does it occur?

It happens ever so often. Although when it does happen it doesn't seem to go away. Then I'll play a game like the very next day and it's fine. I hasn't ever started while playing a game for a while..only as soon as I put the game in.
