Ditto on the extended warranty. Get it at Best Buy - their's is awesome.

I got the 3 rings of death, brought my 360 in and got a new one with HDMI (mine didn't have it). I then got a $50 credit because the price of the 360 had dropped since I bought it. I put that credit towards another 2 year warranty.

Definetely worth it in my opinion.

Could a lot of this failure have to do with stores that are still selling off their glut of older X360's that were left over? The red ring issue was supposed to have been addressed after a certain point.
