M$ memo reveals multiple unannounced exclusives coming in 08

"In 2008 the hits will continue to come with exclusives including “Halo Wars,” “Too Human,” “Fable 2,” Alan Wake,” “Splinter Cell: Conviction,” and several exciting yet-to-be-announced titles. Xbox 360 will be home to the next versions of great franchises like Grand Theft Auto and Resident Evil, and we will continue to be the leading choice for sports fans, with the next editions of Madden and FIFA looking and playing better on our platform."

This little paragraph does a lot of interesting things:

#1 It reconfirms 2008 release dates for Halo Wars, Too Human, Fable 2, Alan Wake, Splinter Cell: Conviction and Grand Theft Auto IV.

#2 It reveals Microsoft has several "several exciting yet-to-be-announced titles."

#3 It confirms Resident Evil 5 as a 2008 release, the first time any concrete release date has been discussed for the game sincethe game's producer, Jun Takeuchi, said he didn't believe the game would be ready before 2009 in a July 2007 issue of Famitsu.

#4 It boasts that Madden NFL 09 and FIFA 09 will look and play better on the Xbox 360.

Banjo-Kazooie 3 and Ninja Gaiden 2 are not mentioned in the list of exclusives. That could be nothing, or it could point to delays for these two (previously assumed to release in 2008) titles.

Yes, Don Mattrick certainly has some large shoes to fill. But he's definitely coming out swinging.

now we need to figure out how everyone can see you eating your shorts. how good are you at putting vids on youtube? we need to get this figured out before hand.

It is starting to sound like 08 is going to be just as good of a year as 07 was for X360 gamers! I absolutely can't wait for Halo Wars, Alan Wake, Fable 2!!!

Well Banjo-Kazooie 3, while I believe will most definitely be pushed back until 2009, won't be a multi-platform title. Microsoft has shown no desire to let Rare go, and won't publish a title for the PS3. . .

Although. . . I have seen wierder stuff happen in 2007. . . like M$ letting Bungie go independent.

As for Ninja Gaiden 2, I see no reason why it would be a 100% exclusive 360 title. My guess is that the game is a timed exclusive. . . probably 6 months. Might be a reason as to why they didn't list it as a 360 exclusive. . . or maybe Tecmo just hasn't announced that the PS3 version is being made as well. Who knows how these game politics work?

I'm sure the PS4 will get Ninja Gaiden 2 Omega or something, after the Xbox 360 has already had like 3 versions released.

Hey, you were the one who stated you would. Personally, i'd be much happier to see you buy us an HD-DVD or X360 game instead of eating your shorts if you lose your claim.

I think they're betting on the 360 version being the main platform with ports to the PS3 and Wii/etc. It was a true statement for last year's titles, but I'm not sure it still holds water this year.
