Default Nintendo says PS3 price drop useless

In a surprise move, Sony yesterday slashed the price of PS3 by $100 to $499 in the US, as it prepares to unleash the 80GB model in the same region. But Nintendo isn't bothered, according to George Harrison.

"A $100 price drop won't make a difference," said the ssenior Nintendo VP. "Can Sony afford a $200 price drop? I don't think so," he added.

It's actually pretty nice to see the big N back into the game after that thing they called the Gamecube. Obviously, they are in a very good position to make comments like that. I really wish that the new Nintendo would have been more HD.

I agree the one and only reason I am not in a super hurry to go out and buy the Wii is the non HD issue. Now my daughter on the other hand just got her first job at Safeway so I would bet she will be in a hurry to buy one.

or any HD period. I don't count 480p HD. And to be honest, even 480p Wii games look horrible on a digital TV.

If you really want to enjoy a Wii, you have to use an analog TV, and I don't have any analog TVs at my house. (none that are plugged in at least)

I think the price drop is going to make some difference.

I've considering picking up the PS3 on amazon. Its a GREAT deal at $499 with 6 blu-ray movies and remote. Its still just a bit more than I'm willing to spend though, especially since the games just don't do it for me. Plus I think my wife would have a few choice words for me

Just remember the old saying that its easier to beg for forgiveness rather than ask for permission. If worst comes to worst, remind her that you are the pater familias although that might not have much weight in modern society........
