Default Good to be back!

I ammm b 2 ayack! I had a mild medical setback, my kidney went out me while working from home. Blessedly I was able to drive to the hospital from my house and get it resolved. Docs claim that it came from high stress levels from my job (IT related). Needlless to say that my gaming has been zilch since. I am temporarily staying at my parents until I get my bearings (gotta luv my momz and bros (stay at home dad) cooking! I just got my parents wireless network back working....I have been dying for gaming news! I was watching the news and saw about Halo 3 launching in Sept. That is big news. Hopefully the early launch means 20 million sales this year and more importantly 20 million 360s sod worldwide. I got a few non-gaming questions. Since my kidney is gone, I have to do dialysis 3 times a week for 4 hours each. I have a laptop and want to to connect onlline. Has any service cell or card wireless service gotten affordable, e.g. sub $30? There are no wifi or t-mobile hotspots near the faciility. Sorry for my long winded post but its great to be back online

That was what the docs told me.

So no one is familiar with cell/wireless net service? The cheapest I can find is about $60 per month.

it will probaly be cheaper if you get it through your cell phone provider. also check out dell they give deals to sign up through them. i got a year of comcast broadband for $19.99 plus a $50 check in the mail. so check in with them every once in a while to see if there offering anything. check out the compare providers link on this page.

hope it helps and feel better soon.

If you are due for an upgrade the newer smart phones have their own built in wireless broadband. Just plug one end of cable to your phone and the other end to your laptop and your good to go. Most cell companies will have combined voice/data plans. I think Verizon's start at $79/month. And welcome back!

I'm so sorry to hear about your kidneys. I just hope you get on the list for a donor kidney soon. My father was on dialysis for a while till he finally got a donor kidney from a off duty paramedic at the Childrens Hospital who died in a severe car crash. I know that it can be tough, but have you also considered peritoneal dialysis? Unfortunately, you'll need 9 hours to devote to sleep every night and this does involve having a tube inserted into your peritoneal cavity which is hooked up to a home unit while you sleep. Either way, welcome back as we've been wondering where you've gone lately in another thread.
