Default Flat Panel Stuck Pixel Question

hey guys and gals!

I have on itty bitty stuck pixel on the LCD I just bought. It's really not a distraction and I can only see it clearly when I'm less than a foot away (1 pixel out of 2 million over 42" means it's really really small). My finance and I both decided we can live with it as long as it doesn't negatively affect the resolution of my set at all (since I paid for 1080p after all). Is there a general consensus that if there is only one stuck pixel (and I have confirmed it's stuck not dead) that it is livable as there is a slight possibility it may start working again someday? And please no nit-picking.

If you just bought the TV and it's still under warranty (and did not buy the extended warranty) then you can always threaten the store you're going to return it if they don't send someone out to fix the pixel. -- The manager of the store will be the only person that will care.
*You can say this in a nice way. People will only help other people out if they're nice about their threats

If it's under warranty, then get it fixed!!!

If it's not under warranty anymore, then you have no choise but to live with it. Personally, if I spent big bucks on something, I want it to work perfectly and would have it fixed.

Good luck with it!! You may want to read some articles about how to massage the pixel to get it working again. I've read some where people have "massaged" the pixel to get it working...but that could lead to other negative issues with the TV. --- do some research.

Already tried. I'm going to run RGB pixel fixer this weekend. I have 30 days from last Friday to return it. I just don't feel like waiting all that time for a new one (sears needs to have almost every TV shipped in)

It's not bad, I'll probably live with it. I'm not going to get all nit-picky. The set didn't cost me that much (got it down to 1800 after a sears price match +10%) It may just go away after a while of using it, as I have heard about in several cases. (Plus it will serve as part of my OCD behavioral therapy)

SSWEEETTTT!!!! ... which one of those is the most recommended?.. my stuck pixel has been there for a long time now though(at least a good 2months) the day i found it it tried the "rubbing technique" using a microfiber very damped cloth i rubbed where the stuck pixel was but nothing happen.. i rubbed for a good 3mins or so.. im thinking maybe my stuck pixel is permanent now but i will certainly try those.. luckly my computer and HDTV are within feet from each other .

Not to highjack the thread, but are there any other types of TV's out there that can suffer from stuck pixels other than LCD and Plasmas? That's definately a concern of mine when I pick up my next TV because i'm so anal and would obsess over it.

yes.. i think LCD projections can suffer from it.. i dont know about DLP projections, maybe? but i doubt plasmas do.. i have never heard of a situation about a plasma stuck/bright or dead pixel. I have heard about burn-ins and/or image retention on plasma, wether thats the same as stuck/bright or dead pixel i dont know..

Well now i have a dead pixel to go along with the stuck pixel. TV is going back for exchange tomorrow. They are telling me over a week until i can get a new one... Hopefully that means it's going to be from a different lot and hopefully better!

Nah, I didn't run it long enough for it to do anything. Plus I kinda noticed it before I ran it and thought it was a stuck red one. Thank got for unconditional return policies. Bringing it back tonight.

well i couldnt run a RGB from the PC to the TV.. i forgot i dont have any of those cables LOL.. and i though the one for my PC and monitor that i could use but i notice that the RBG cable is part of the monitor duuhhh. so anyway i tried using the PS3's web browser to go to those websites to fix the pixels but since the PS3 browser is too basic i couldnt even run those fix it things on those websites. So i searched again and i found this http://www.psp-vault.com/Article168.psp .. its a video someone made to fix stuck pixels on the PSP LCD screen... its a .mp4 video so the PS3 can play it back.. i popped it into a storage device and put it on the PS3, i ran/repeat the video for about 30mins(try not to stair at it cause that crap could cause a seizure LOL!) anyway afterwards i rubbed my stuck pixel alittle more and IT FIXED IT!!!.... .. .. ... no not really LOL.. just kidding, its still there but i find that it got alittle smaller now so im glad.. now its very hard to see it. I dont think i can actually fix it completely but oh well.. its good for now, it doesnt bug me now.
