Lightbulb Sustained Surge of Xbox Live Traffic Observed

As per TeamXbox:

Sustained Surge of Xbox Live Traffic Observed
By: César A. Berardini - "Cesar"
Feb. 5th, 2007 5:06 am

Ontario-based Sandvine announced today that using its network traffic tools it has identified a surge in traffic and hosts for Xbox Live across North American broadband networks in the fall after the release of new Xbox games.

Even more important, the Xbox Live traffic surge identified in the fall spiked once again over the holidays and has maintained a high level of traffic volumes and hosts. The report states:

Over the holiday season, Sandvine continued to monitor Xbox Live traffic and hosts, and found another spike on December 25th, 2006, followed by a sustained high-level of traffic as of the time of this release.

Sandvine observed an approximate 55% peak increase in the number of hosts using Xbox Live and an approximate 36% peak increase in Xbox Live traffic across a sampling of North American broadband networks.

Isn't it funny how fast your friend's list fills up? As time goes on, you have to start deleting some because you have no room to add more, lol.
