One Voice Technologies announced today Media Center Communicator v3 for Windows Vista, which will allow users to control up to five Xbox 360 video game systems by simply speaking to play music, videos, watch recorded TV or play photo slideshows.

Features include:

Simple to use voice commands with no voice training required
High accuracy with wide range of accents
Voice commands for Xbox 360
Play MP3 or Apple iTunes music using voice commands
PC-to-Phone calling using Skype to anywhere worldwide
Home automation for setting thermostats, lighting, security cameras and much more
Read and send email
View photos and photo slideshows
Create your own custom voice macros to launch websites and applications
Works with Media Center DVD players (Sony and Niveus)
USB microphone included

“Imagine walking into your entertainment room and simply saying, for example; Xbox Play U2 or Xbox Play American Idol, and your Xbox immediately starts playing that content,” said Dean Weber, president and CEO at One Voice Technologies.

“With our technology you can control both the main Windows Vista computer along with controlling up to five Xbox 360 game consoles using voice commands. We allow the user to uniquely name each Xbox 360 in their home; for instance one might be named Family Room while another named Game Room. that might be lazy but dam that is a f*cking sweet feature. i would love to be sitting there and say ps3 killer (because i would rename my xbox360 at this point) play jack ass2.

this is just amazing what type of features there adding to the 360.

I'm very glad that Microsoft has chosen to not stand still and wait for their competition to catch up. It's amazing how lazy people are getting, but it's great if it will get more people to buy X360's. The more people buy X360's, the better likelihood that better games will be made for it. It will also help entice those stubborn PS3 only exclusive developers to start going multiplatform.

i know its lazy junehhan but com'on its an awsome feature to have. its a luxury feature to have and could come in handy on those days when i dont feel like getting up to get the remote or cant find it.

what if i could just say go to chapter 10 and bam its done. how about your sitting there holding your girl and you want to rewind a scene or turn off your xbox and go to bed but dont want to get up. all you gotta do is say xbox off and close your eyes.

Or how about a 50 disk game changer. You could just say 'Play Gears' and it would load it without even lifting a finger. Good for the real couch potatoes.

However, I think it would be awesome if Toshiba could add voice command support to their HD-DVD players though

i know that thing takes forever to startup doesnt it. but that is what im getting at a feature like this could mean alot of big things in the future of electronics in general. remotes will become a thing of the past and i love that.

right now i have a sony remote commander which controls my 2 tvs, 2 dvd players, cable box, a/v reciever, air conditioner, xbox 360, 360 hd dvd add on, and i could still control alot more with it if i wanted to. i would gladly give up pressing all those buttons to say a/c turn on to 65 degrees or cable box espn.
