After all the denials and rumors its finally official... Before some thought it was coming to PC and PS3 only...

Punching home a message that Midway is coming to the next-generation with a full stable of goods, the Chicago-based publisher today announced that the game formerly known as Unreal Tournament 2007 is now Unreal Tournament 3. And it's coming to the PC, PlayStation 3 and Microsoft's Xbox 360 in the second half of 2007.

HA! There goes another PS3 title. Wasn't it originally announced a long time ago that it was only being developed for PC and the PS3? I think Epic making a statement over a year ago about how they were devleoping UT2007 for the PS3, while the X360 was getting GoW.

yes it was originally a PC and PS3 title, not a PS3 exclusive title. in no way i see this as "there goes PS3 losing another title" since it was already announced for PC too.

PCs aren't the PS3's direct competition. The 360 is. Discount this all you want, but it's one more title that will now be on both consoles, not just the PS3.

um, if you are not going to play a game on your game console, then why buy a game console at all?? i believe the theory behind games is that they are supposed to be played, whether on a console or pc lol

There are games that are "console-friendly" and games that aren't "console-friendly". Unreal Tournament is a PC only game, IMO.

No one on Xbox Live will give 2 shits about this game 6 months after it's released. This is how it's been since the first Unreal game was released on Xbox 1.

So maybe you should inform midway and epic that they are wasting time and $$ bringing UT to PS3 and 360 since no one is going to buy it for a console. Surely you know more than them...right??

If you don't believe me then just take a look at the 2 or 3 Unreal games released on the Xbox 1. They didn't sell well and online was totally barren. Oh yeah, and terrible lag.

As I said before, maybe you should tell the devs and publishers this, since you know everything. I bet it will sell at least a million on 360... An extra million copies sold would be incredibly stupid to ignore...right?

okay, so according to you, we should always look to the past performance to determine future game development? if that were the case, then one of sony's most prized titles, metal gear solid, wouldn't have made it past the third one since it got worse reviews than the first two....

terrible lag? do you honestly think there will be lag on the next-gen consoles? and there are more users on xboxlive now then there were with only the original xbox. and if the game is a great game, people will play it....they are not going to say "gee. the last two weren't that great, so i am not going to even look at this game"

I'm not saying the publishers/devs are stupid for selling this on a console, I'm saying anyone who buys this game is stupid. Cygnus, I'd love to lie to you and say this game will rock so you waste $60 on it but I guess deep down I actually care about your purchasing decisions.

well, at least you are consistant with providing zero usefullness on these forums...thank goodness we have someone like you to point on that a game is going to suck before it even comes out....so tell me, exactly how many hours of hands-on gameplay did you get, since clearly you know for a fact what games will and will not be good months before they are ever released.....
