Talking Sony: Nobody will ever tap full potential of PS3

Sony PS3 full potential is untappable according to Phill Harrison

In an interview with MTV, Sony's Phil Harrison put each of the PlayStation's full potential into perspective. Harrison stated that Gran Turismo 2 maxed out the first PlayStation, God of War II, coming early 2007, is "about as good as it gets" on PS2, and Sony's games currently use "less than half" of the PS3's ultimate juice.

Regarding the limits of PS3, Harrison stated that "Nobody will ever use 100 percent of its capability" due to consistent firmware upgrades, developers better learning and understanding the system, and the uniqueness of the Sixaxis controller.

It seems Sony will never learn their lesson, you'd think by now after all the lies they would reevaluate their practices, but I guess some things never change.

Im buying the PS3 because if I dont, I loose all of the old library of games I have. However they have proven to this go around they will say anything to look better than they are. They will never learn.

that is a pretty weak reason to buy a ps2 if you ask me. hell i would keep my ps2 and buy a 360. there not giving much for the ps2 anyways and its not like the ps2 games look better on the ps3. so your reasoning makes absolutly no sence to anyone other then fan boys.

That's because you've never played FF7 with six axis wireless.

I have over 25 titles for the "Special Edition" Halo Xbox I still own, and yet I doubt I will ever play any of those games ever again! Hell, I barely have time to play all the awesome 360 titles that have come out in the first year the 360 has been on the market. I figure strong titles, that I will want, will continue to hit the market every couple of months for the next two or three years. While I can easily be considered a 'light gamer', or even a "recreational" gamer according to XBL, the games for the 'Next Generation' consoles have ruined me to crappy 1080i/720p games or even good 480p games forever!

Knowing what I'm going to use the PS3 for, the PS3 is the better deal for me. It's cheaper for me to buy the PS3. Oh and I love Motorstorm!

There is nothing better for backwards compatibility than owning the actual console itself. PS3's are really cheap anyway.

It's amazing how Sony continues with their BS. They continue to make people have unrealistic expectations for their console, only for those people to be disappointed when they find out the truth.

I know, I just haven't had the heart to get rid of the very first HD console (as it were) I have ever owned.

Its really pretty stupid if you think about it...its like I fear what Id have to think about while 'Pawning her off to the highest bidder.'

Yeah man I know what you mean.

I actually start to whip out the older games when they become... just that... old.. aka my NES and SNES get more action than they did 5 years ago now, along with 99 percent of my time on 360.

I can see myself hitting up my PS1/N64 more and more as well here...

Man, dont start that fanboy crap. Im 33 and far from a fanboy for anything. Im just saying I have lots of PS1 and 2 games that my kids still play, and I will but the PS3 to continue the trend incase they stop making the PS2. I have alot of money in those systems. Thats beside the point. Sony is full of crap and will say anything knowing good and well they wont come through most of the time. Its good to strive on making goals happen, but there must be a point when one must admit they are overwhelmed, rather than keep on with hype for nothing.

man thats just funny.. i remember reading this afew days ago right when it came out. personally it sounds like they are just over-hyping it even more, the need a kick in the ass. i think the statement is just a tad bit over-exaggerated no?

though i like what he states about God of War 2 coming out later in 2007 will be "as good as the PS2 gets".. WOW!!! and i thought FFXII, MGS3, GT4, Shadow of the Colossus and God of War where pretty much "as good as the PS2 gets"... if GOW2 can beat all these, im just going to pass out. thank "god" GOW is a sony title, man i freaking loved that game. i can only imagine GOW3 for the PS3 *is about to faint....*

Sony thinks God himself couldnt produce a game to fully take advantage of the PS3s power. As a matter of fact Sony would probably claim God used a PS3 to create the universe and all living things. After all the PS3 can cure cancer according to Sony. Now if only the PS3 could reproduce itself 6-8 millions times so I might have a chance at buying one.
