Default Rip HD-DVD's to your PC using XBOX 360

All you need is your HD-DVD drive, the right video capture card, a PC, and a LOT of hard drive space (and a SATA controller couldn't hurt either)

funny cause i remember hearing somebody criticize about the security of blu-ray when they found out how to rip it to hard drives.. seems HD-DVD isnt so "secured" either. its only a matter of time(probably days) before they figure out how to burn them back to disc(bluray and HDDVD)

Let me hand you a clue: it is sony that is bragging how much more secure blur-ray is over HD-DVD, not the other way around. next time, think before you post.

Post Blog on How to Copy HD-DVDs

http://www.jakeludington.com/hddvd/2...py_hddvds.html

Breaking this down, the requirements for copying HD-DVDs using this method are:

* An Xbox 360 and Xbox 360 HD-DVD drive.
* Tons of fast-write drive space
* HD capture card with component inputs
* Video Capture Software
* Proper cabling
* Video conversion software to output a compressed HD video file

This will not work with Windows Vista as there is no HD capture solutions with Windows Vista drivers.

This is just an analog capture, you'll need a good capture card that can except 720p/1080i signals over component (the AJA XENA LH costs $1,500+) and a recommended 6GB/min) and hours of re compression time into the format of your choice.

After a lot of work and big dollars you'll end up with an HD version that is inferior to the original 1080p source that is on the $20-30 HD-DVD.
