Ok first off yes i did mean to post this in the rear and front sections of the forum as well as the gaming section just to get more anwsers.
Right ive googled this question for a while but no simple anwsers. What is better Rear or Front projectors. I have an xbox 360 and want a big hd screen. So for gaming which is better, also is one more expensive. Also price leads me to my second quick question, the only reason im looking at projectors is it seems incrediably cheap for 1080p at such large size compared to plasma or lcd, but is projector quality really as good and if so, why do people still buy lcd/plasma??? |

I have a 57in RPT and it is fine for gaming. The reason why ppl buy plasma is due to its relatively thin size when compared to projection TVs. Plasma is also brighter and has wider viewing angles than projection TVs. Plasma does use more power. I am not sure if its really noticeable via electric bill tho. Some conspiracist types think that plasma TVs could affect your health but I doubt if this has been proven.

Cygnus, I think the OP means projector, not rear-projector (like, you need a screen to bounce the light of of). I'm curious about this too.

Try posting your question in front projection and rear projections sections of the forum.

Heh..I kinda thought that but I got busy at work and forgot to post back. I'd probably get an overhead (front?) projector. But I am not too familiar with them.

Front Projector:
Pros: Big Screen Cons: Bulb prices, wall space, room has to be almost completely dark Rear Projection TV: Pros: Uses less wall space, sometimes cheaper over the long run Cons: Smaller Screen, bulb and color wheel prices, have to sit directly in front on screen to get best picture |
