In case you didn’t know and were wondering why your Xbox 360 couldn’t connect to Xbox Live, Microsoft took down Xbox Live, as well as Xbox.com for a scheduled 24-hour maintenance. Unfortunately, the process took longer than expected and those who were waiting to download Lumines Live! early this morning were not able to grab anything from the Xbox Live Marketplace.

We contacted Microsoft and a company’s spokesperson gave us the following explanation:

As a result of yesterday’s update to Xbox.com and Xbox Live, some users may have experienced difficulty logging in to Xbox Live, accessing certain Marketplace content or viewing other individuals’ detailed profile info. Those issues have now been addressed, however gamers may experience some brief hiccups as the Xbox Live engineering team continues to monitor the situation and make adjustments to ensure complete stability.

These issues also caused the delay of the Lumines Live! Advance Pack and Microsoft was kind enough to let us know when we can expect that add-on to be available for download.

The Challenge mode Advance Pack is the first add-on pack for “Lumines Live!”, and includes 22 new skins (20 skins + 2 bonus skins) for additional, challenging game experiences. Due to a technical issue with yesterday’s upgrades to Xbox Live, the Advance Pack is temporarily unavailable, but will be available for download by 2:00 a.m. Pacific Time on Friday or earlier.

i was just about to post this. i could get on live earlier but the other night it knocked me off and not tonight it is doing it again. now i know why atleast but i do wonder when it will be back up.
