Wii causes PS3 price drop in Japan

I seen it on the news,so I had to do a search.There are numerous articles on this.No US price cut has been annonced yet,but retailers can set the price of the higher end model.Any thoughts on this article?

The "analyst" is clearly speculating and he admits it. If this were a reaction to Wii SONY would have announced the price drop at least a month ago isntead of now, or we would have heard some rumor leaked about it. Let me clarify the pricing issue. SCEA confirmed that the US will not be receiving the price cut and the open ended 60GB console price is in Japan only. And, like the analyst in the article, I have yet to find confirmation of HDMI on the 20GB model here but it would make sense, as he said, to undercut the 360 Premium/HD DVD one two punch.
