Hello guys, hope one of you guys can help me, I recently bought an LG 42PX4RVH plasma screen and plugged all my game consoles to it, but I seem to have a problem with my PS2, I have it connected through a S-Video cable to the plasma screen.
When I play a DVD movie on the PS2 the image fills the whole screen, but when I play a game, there's a black bar on the left side of the screen as if the PS2 image couldn't fill the screen. Is this because of the S-Video cables? Should I get the Component ones instead to fix this? Any help would be really appreciated. |

There's a black bar ONLY on the left side of the screen? Unless you are playing a game in 720p (I don't think the PS2 is capable of 1080i), the screen should should never be filled unless you change the display to Full (Stretched). But there should be black bars on both sides of the screen on any 480i/480p game (almost all PS2 games are 480i/480p). My recommendation: buy component cables.

Thank you very much Glow, actually there's a black bar on the left side of the screen of 1.5 inches and on the right side there's another one of 0.5 inches.
I already ordered the component cables cause otherwise I cannot play games in progressive scan. My only concer is why the Dreamcast connected through a simple composite cable does fill the screen completely and the PS2 doesn´t? |
