Default Battlefield 4 - Official Thread

So I just got done with a little session, first off I can max this game with no AA and be stable at 60 FPS with 64 players. Everything is on Ultra, lighting is set to HBAO and the other thing turned off is AA. So the game is gorgeous online, a lot better than BF3 and the the map that is a bunch of islands starts off bright and sunny and turns into a hellstorm and the effects are bad fuckin ass!!!!!!!

I dig the game play, I dig the looks but the PC crowd sucks balls yet again. Bunch of lone wolf, non mic having assholes. I could not get anyone to play as an actual team, no tactics just run and camp or run and die. There were a handful of legit dudes but their squads were always filled so I was stuck with a bunch of idiots who would spawn across the map while we were trying to take flags (conquest). I don't care how great the PC version looks, I will take the console crowd any day as you can actually play the game the way it is meant to be played.

One other caveat, I played for over an hour with zero server issues, it was only on my last game I started to experience some rubber banding but it was not all that bad.

DRIVERS DO NEED TO BE UPDATED -

For Nvidia folks it is 331.65, the driver before this made the game play like shit. As soon as I upgraded to this, it was smooth sailing from then on!

AMD Folks, it should be Catalyst 13.11 to give you a boost on the PC.

I had like rainbow colored strobe effect lense flare all over my screen on 331.58. Two week old driver... 331.65 fixed that.

Are you as fucking badass at BF4 as you were at BF3? I remember that brief Xbox 360 run that we had, you would rape constantly. Totally carried our team.

I was never very good at Battlefield. Not like Halo. I totally dominate every match that I play in Halo. Especially H4. Its not even funny, its just mean

I am okay, I think the hardest part is not having team mechanics, on the 360 version I could rape cause we communicated and played as a team. I could fill in the gaps so to speak. If we needed cover fire I would would be support, if we needed vision of the enemy I would go recon and spot everyone, so on and so forth.

I had some good runs tonight, but I kept being grouped up with idiots who would run out, give our position away and then we get worked.

Graphically, the campaign is top-notch. Up there with Crysis 3 and Metro Last Light.

I'm hoping I have time to get some MP in tonight. No time these days.

I was watching some of those PS4/Xbone comparison videos and the single player campaign looks fun, so I'm thinking about buying it hopefully cheap (free with a radeon or buying someone's coupon who just bought a radeon.)

Just found out why some Geforce users had weird coloring issues with BF4.

Seems BF4 is the first DX11.1 compliant game, and no Geforce is 100% DX11.2 compliant.

In fact, only GTX 780 has SOME DX11.1 parts but zero 11.2 support and anything below GTX 780 has only DX11.0.

So the newest driver was suppose to address the tile resourcing function or something. I'm not 100% sure on the technical aspect, but I thought GTX 700 series was DX11.2 compliant.

Pretty pathetic Xbox controller support, especially for a game that is out on Xbox. You can't navigate the menus, it still shows you the key prompts, can't exit menus, etc. What a pathetic attempt. Why even put controller support in the game if you're going to LESS than half ass your attempt?

fucking jerks.

You're playing with 360 pad?

I like kb/m for these type games.

bf3 was the same way and at some points in the game you had to press a certain button on the keyboard as there was no corresponding button on vontroller- pissed me off to.

I tried it last night. I feel like the KBM Controls are sluggish and hard to handle. For some reason, I just can't get the feel right. Had the same problem with BF3. Its like I just can't get the cursor movement to feel right, makes it unnecessarily hard and I find myself playing/shooting from a totally stationary position the whole time and its not fun. Thought I'd try the Xbox controller to get a little more movement.

Not like Call of Duty (or virtually any other PC FPS); that game feels easy and natural, but for some reason, not BF.

Just turn on aim assist, you'll be fine

Menus work for me, right and left bumpers but no you can get into a menu by pushing pause but not out of a menu... So I was able to change all of my video settings easily, adjust sensitivity and what not but not exit the menu system... You can now change your loadouts with a controller so that is a step in the right direction, in BF3 you could not even do that....

Yeah you can't leave menus! And try going to a weapon crate. Hope you have your mouse handy. Pathetic attempt
