I love Monoprice cables and I have two of their stands (three if you include the one at my mother's), a few of their adapters, and two of their hubs/switches -and I've had zero issues with any of them.
But...this...I dunno: http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...ormat=2&ref=cj The price is FUCKING AMAZING!!! That's a 1440p 27" LED Monitor for <$400. I was price checking one (since I got an itch to upgrade something) and the cheapest I could find was $600 ball park. I'm debating buying one and being the test subject. Monoprice can move a ton of these units IF they are reliable. If you guys ever saw the Catleap craze, people were importing ~$500 monitors from Korea with shitty support around the enthusiast forums like crazy. Need to do more research. If I can sell my Samsung for $200 to my BFF then I can easily pick one of these up. ZOMG!!! |

They won't get their first batch until January, and with no reviews it would most definitely be a shot in the dark. However, I bought my first Spectre LCD monitor on a clearance sale (22" for $120 in 2006ish was a great price) and that monitor was amazing. So I'm open to trying unproven vendors. Quote:
I'd buy from them without question, of course, they aren't making the monitors - just rebranding. There is a high chance I just might buy one and try to pawn my 27" Samsung off (since it doesn't have DVI-D and oh God Help me PC gaming without DVI-D is a nightmare!) |

You are not factoring in the cost of a telescope to view that tiny screen.
I can't imagine gaming hunched over at a desk. How do you recline your chair? ![]() 50" or more for me...

I have two monitors (an ASUS and a Samsung) and I know with some games (Crysis based ones) there is a nice funky HDMI related issue where it restricts to 24hz (24 FPS).
Coloring can be an issue, at least I think so, but perhaps that is more the monitor issue. I can't get my Samsung to look as rich as my ASUS>. That and DVI-D has more bandwidth and you can't use the higher resolutions through standard HDMI. |

That looks pretty awesome...
Too bad I have absolutely no use for it.

I kind of want one of those monitors, alas I have zero free cash right now. Maybe if this big job I'm working on getting comes through I'll buy myself a gift as a bonus.

![]() The extra pixels don't make the picture quality better than the Elite, which is still the best picture quality of any display ever released to the public.

![]() I only use monitors for things like Le WoWz and SW:TOR. Everything else goes on the big screen... Well gamepad friendly stuff is what I mean. |
