Your 2012 GOTY

I've got 70+ hours into it (Steam's count is off due to "pause time"), I've beaten the main quest line, the Stormcloaks, and the College of Winterhold, but I still feel as though I've only barely scratched the surface. It is a pretty awesome game. I started my 2nd playthough in November, trying to do as much as I can this time through that I may have missed the first time. I have a couple of misc. quests that are glitched out, so I'm not sure how to complete them. The new Dawnguard dlc is pretty cool as well.

I look at origin so infrequent - typically only when I play BF3.

ME3 is definitely worth a playthrough.

SSX (PS3) - Unlike every game mentioned in this thread, this game is not an incremental upgrade and/or an inferior sequel. This is like the transition from 2D Grand Theft Auto to GTA3. The SSX world is full blown with 11 descents and like 500 trails, full online modes, awesome audio processing.... the game just kicks ass.

I have SSX for 360 and while a good game certainly nowhere near GOTY (it didn't even retail for the standard price upon release). also the fact that you mentioned 2 ipad games as GOTY candidates invalidates your post and should ban you from this thread.

I'm going to go with Dishonored as my game of the year. Despite the questionable story it was a good enough background and new IP with clever mechanics that made me play the whole thing through. It's one of only a handful of games I finished. I wanted to say Sleeping Dogs very badly because I enjoyed the story, but really it was just a GTAIV ripoff mixed with super easy batman martial arts mechanics.

LostWinds 2 is a Wii game first. That's what I first bought it for. Then I bought it on the App Store and guess what? Game plays much better on iPad.

As for SSX not being GOTY... I guess it can't qualify because it's not a FPS or RPG and this forum is pure nerd. No way could a sports game be worthy of GOTY no matter how good it is....
