OT: Got Robbed

Had my car broken into on Fri. Unfortunately I had left my wallet in there in the center console. Not only had my driver's license and credit cards but also several checks including my Christmas bonus check from work. Luckily I got stop payments immediately and am getting checks re-issued. Notified the bank before any damage was done but this really screws up my Christmas plans. They also got a few Xbox titles that have been returned from a friend who had borrowed them but that is no biggie. At least my windows didn't get smashed in like my neighbor's car did.

Really sorry to hear about that man, I stopped putting systems into my car because I used to get broken into at least 3 times a year. I decided not to tint either so they could see I did not leave anything in my car and most the time I never even locked my doors so they didn't have to break my windows.

They must have jimmied it because they smashed windows in other people on the block. I rarely ever leave anything in my car but I had made a late night run to Wendy's and when I came home I grabbed the bags but inadvertently left my wallet on the console next to the games. Woke up in the morning and when I saw my cell phone sitting on my dresser by itself I said - Better go get my wallet from the car and then went out and bam. What bothers me is I wasn't parked on the street - It was up in my driveway very close to my house and the neighbor on that side with motion detector lights all around. Some ballsy sob's

Ya that's shitty. I remember a long time ago my vehicle getting broken into, they smashed the window and ripped out the deck and damaged the dash. Your right about them being ballsy too, alot of them don't care where the car is parked. I also hate replacing all the shit in your wallet, a real pain in the ass. It's good though that you got everything cancelled and no damage (or very little) to your car.

ugh, jkkyler man I know exactly what you're going through, earlier this year around march someone broke in to my truck, jacked my stereo, and my amp.

It was up parked in the driveway too at the time, and i mean far up the driveway.. the driveway had to be 50-70 feet long. ballsy sumbitches alright.

Yea , If they had broken the windows that far up in my driveway either somebody in my house or the neighbors would have heard for sure. At least there wasn't a bunch of presents in the car like some of my neighbors .

Unfortunately a person can't leave anything in their car especially presents during holiday season, that's just asking for trouble.

I don't live in an upper crust gated community but I do live in a pretty nice part of town (on the fringe of the ultra-rich area (so I can take advantage of the good schools) so it sucks to know (realize) crime is at your doorstep.
