Oh yeah. The studios are licking their chops at these expiring streaming contracts. Netflix might not even be around after they get done with them.

I have been saying for the longest that NF stock is overvalued. NF is trying to hedge their bets by bringing back a DVD only plan. Also the increase in fees will help cover the cost of them expanding to latin america and other regions. I doubt they will charge them $7.99 a month for streaming.

Their service is second to none...... I don't think this is debatable. There is no better bang for your buck than Netflix if you like movies. If you aren't happy with the price then that's your own issue, but the amount of content you have access to with Netflix DVD, Blu-ray + streaming is enormous and second to none. If you're a casual movie watcher who just likes to watch mainstream movies and new releases, then I'd stick with redbox or Blockbuster but as a movie lover I'm sticking with Netflix. I might lower the amount of discs I get in the mail but this price hike isn't going to make me abandon NF.

your kidding right?!? Of course I know if I'm not happy with the price that its my problem, unless you're offering to pay my subscription fee? I took the according action and Cancelled my disk portion of my plan yesterday. streaming wise... Xfinity has netflix SMOKED! add hulu+, southparkstudios.com and in all honesty... there is no reason to keep netflix other then i dont need my laptop hooked up to my plasma to watch it, which is very very simple anyways with just an HDMI cable.

Its not the dollar amount.. its the percentage! look at any of you're other bills and add 60% to it... Mortgage/rent, electric and nature gas, a bag of chips or box of lucky charms and the one EVERYONE gets mad at... a Gallon of Gas! add 60% to any of those and tell me you wont have a problem with the percentage! I expect increase's, thats the nature. Two in 6 months is crazy and this one at 60% pushed me out the door. I've kept the streaming portion of NF but if I see another increase in the next year, I'll dump it also because I'm Not going to let these company's believe they can have their way with my wallet!

Cancelled my streaming this morning. The 60% increase does suck for those that stream alot and get discs, but for me I will save $2 on something I rarely use. $9.99 seems like a reasonable price for unlimited blu-rays to me. I average about 6 rentals a month, so $1.67/rental. Can't beat that.

I understand why ppl are outraged over NF price increase. But compare it to other ways to watch a movie. It still is substantially cheaper than cable, sat, movie theater, etc. Now with that being said, I prob go to streaming only as I have not been renting too many DVDs lately

You guys are forgetting that you need a high speed internet connection to run Netflix. Don't for cable/satellite.

Xfinity is free with a cable sub... I had no plans of canceling cable because of netflix.. so that 80+ fee was being paid regardless it just now comes with streaming.
