So SP is 12 hours. Good. How good is the multiplayer? How many different modes and players online? I read that you have to unlock the good online modes. Is that true?

MP is just a COD clone. A real wasted opportunity. Small maps, custom loadouts and killstreak rewards.

Single player is a classic. Best FPS I've played in so long.

Just got this for free, my best friend ordered two copies on accident(he had preordered it on amazon a WHILE ago) and then also pre-ordered it at gamestop, came in the mail today, so he dropped it off over at my house.

Oh god the second play through is better on the first. I'm not looking for shit to nitpick or fucking with the FOV or configs. Such a better experience. I still didn't finish off Dragon Age 2. Oh well.

The NOVA 12 is the greatest pistol in the history of games. Well, against human enemies. It's not much against the Ceth. But for real, I glossed over it in my first run and now I'm going almost NOVA only. Such a great gun.

I really can't see a scenario where this isn't SP GOTY for all platforms. Even Wii, and it's not even coming out on Wii. It's so good it transcends hardware.

I'll put it like this, it exceeds my expectations I had before I lowered them because of all the prerelease bullshit. Consiering Crysis 1 is (was?) my favorite game, that says a lot.

Really? Now you got me interested, I just might have to pick this up and give it a whirl.

Seriously. You shouldn't pass it up. It's some real next level shit. PS3 version looks good to go from all the vids I've seen. Be the best FPS you've played this gen with ease. Single player, of course.

But really, it's a milestone game. A must own if there ever was one. This is the new show off game.

Oh, no I meant in terms of keeping up with you guys when it comes to new game releases. In the case of Crysis 2, i'm not buying it because I refuse to support an unfinished game. I will buy it when the DX11 patch comes out.

Crysis 2 also apparantly has a whole crapload of bugs right now. Surround sound isn't working for many people, and both SLI along with CFX users are also screwed as they apparantly butchered multi GPU support for launch on PC. A damn shame from a company that became famous because of the PC gaming community.

The game is finished.

The DX11 patch is just some stuff they are slapping together. Game is finished. Cry Engine 3 is a DX9 engine. Meant for easy porting between PC/PS3/360.

The textures aren't even compatible with tessellation. They have no depth data. The config guys figured that out when trying to force POM filtering.

DX11 was never even in the plan. It was just there based on expectations. Hell, Nvidia even had a whole marketing campaign for DX11 Crysis 2. It was just never in the cards. If you read between the lines on the forums and twitter it's pretty clear the left hand and right hand weren't communicating on the PC marketing front.

I'm going through on my second run now and it will definitely be under 8 hours. The first time through takes a lot of exploring though. You can speed run any game.

Some people are having problems with their keys. It's a horrible system they implemented for the whole online thing. Web based instead of in game. Clunky as hell. If the MP was any good it would be a real shame.

SP is not less then 8 hours on your first run unless you have insane luck.

The quality of the SP is also stellar. If you like Halo Reach check it out. It's basically the same game but with much better gameplay. You should at least give it a rent. The 360 direct feed shots I've seen are easy the best looking game I've seen on a console. For a while there PS3 held that crown. I didn't think the 360 was even close to capable of what they did.

Don't judge it by the MP demo. It barely even feels or looks like the same engine compared to SP.

Every one on this board needs to play through this campaign. It's that good. It's a "must play" if there ever was one.

Oh and I don't think it's being rated highly enough by the gaming press. 88 on Metacritic is a travesty. They really need to start screening the reviews they average the score wtih. Most are garbage obscure fanboy sites. Fanboys hate this game because it crushes their first party idols.
