GT5 coming November 24th

Recent news that retail discs for Gran Turismo 5 were in production should help ease any fears that the game could be delayed again, and videos cropping up on YouTube suggest the final boxed copy has even made it out into the hands of some lucky players.

Gran Turismo 5 was first officially announced in 2006, since when its Microsoft rival Forza has seen two full instalments on the Xbox 360. Thankfully, it's looking like it'll be worth the wait.

Yeah it will be interesting to see how big of a system seller it will be. It will be difficult to really track because at this time of the year all consoles sells well.

wow, im rather shocked too, announcing it today for a release date thats less then 2wks away.. i was expecting Dec 15 or something like that. impressive that they still manage to pull off a november release. sweet!

That pic is AWESOME!

Will indeed be interesting to see what sort of system seller it is. Sony will find out if their treasured GT series is still their most important asset, or if interest in the franchise has since wained and they need to focus on something new.

Either way, NFS Hot Pursuit is my anticipated racing game this season lol. Though I will probably end up getting GT5 just to ogle the graphics, as usually the first GT release on a system is like a year or 2 ahead of all the other games on consoles visually and I wanna see that rain effect for real.

I played the demo, I think. Was very disappointed that there was no vehicle damage. Is that just a demo thing? Because I will avoid it like the plague if you can bash a car into 300 things and it still looks shiny and new!

That's just the demo, though none of us are 'exactly' sure how damage will be implemented in gt5. I imagine it'll depend on the difficulty level selected or the game host can choose.

We'll see...

I don't think damage applies to all vehicles in the game either. But yeah, ignore any demos for the game, this will be a very different beast.

Well I allocated $60 ahah so I can buy A game. The GF said only one and the rest will be Christmas gifts or something haha. Sooo...

My pre-order of the GT5 CE it is since that has to count even though I paid for it like a month ago haha. Damn being finacially whipped! But if I were in charge of the money again we'd probably be screwed if any of us got fired haha.

The only problem here is that they're already 2 years behind.

I think if this game had been released in 2008, we'd easily be able to say that. But as it is now, I wouldn't be surprised if it's not the graphic whore's wet dream anymore.

Mind you, I'm not saying it won't be pretty, and of course I'll still be getting it, I'm just not 100% certain that it will be as graphically stunning as it would have been if it had been released earlier.

While you guys have been wishing for GTA5, us X360 fans have been blessed with 2 installments from the Forza series. I can't wait to see what GT5 is going to be like. I have no plans to buy a PS3 right now, but i'll just start going over to my friend's house pretty often since I know that he loves the GT series. Best of all, he's got a bigass TV and an incredible sound system.
