Any tips for a potential noob?
I tried a trial account a month ago or so and it bored me to death. Something was very wrong with the gfx and I'm almost 100% sure it's not a good indication of how the complete game plays. I've got another 10 day trial and was wondering how to maximize my enjoyment. Also, what's a good class for someone who will be doing a good bit of soloing. I usually went barb in Diablo, don't know if that's viable in WoW. Also, pretty sure I'm going Horde. HALP! Need more BLIZZ! |

I need that Blizz polish though.
Bioware has been slacking for me lately. Also, I'm not huge on the Star Wars universe. I actually prefer the Warhammer universe that WoW knocks off. Anyone know how much of the game can be played alone and have the feel of a regular single player RPG? |

you can play the entire game alone, up until the end game, you can solo most 5 man instances with just random pugs (pick up group) But if you want the best gear, and to experiance 90 percent of the end game content, you need a Guild, a raiding guild.
PVP, again if you want the best pvp gear, you need to find a friend or two, and own it up in arenas.

I know tons of people who are guildless and decked in i264+ Gear. I have 4 toons I keep up to date on gear, only two raid with the guild, other 2 pug with whomever and we even got Lich King 10man down in a pug. Guilds just make it easier and scheduled, but are no longer required for hardcore end game raiding.

"We had to Crowd Control on every pull. If you pulled two groups its a wipe. Tanks had 5K HP. Pally buffs lasted 2 minutes. Hunters sucked." yada yada yada. With the recent changes I do have to admit I feel a bit jipped when I see fresh 80s pugging ToC when it took me months to gear up to even get looked at for ToC. 3 months after Ice Crown came out pugs were clearing up 80% of it. WTF mate!

People DPS in the 10+K range on bosses now. I can only imagine where we end up in Cat. Supposedly AoEing everything won't be viable anymore.
