Default GOW Collection problem....

Just picked it up today and I am noticing an odd problem. There is a black border around the whole image when playing the game. Its not the TV as no other game has this issue. I'm playing on a 1080p plasma. Anyone else having this issue?

Have you played any other 720p only games on the TV?

Well, Xbox games in general and various other PS3 games. My TV reports that its getting a 1080p signal which would mean that the ps3 is scaling it first. I know the xbox does that and I think the ps3 does as well. May be wrong on that...few beers...fuzzy memory. I'm going to go mess around with the game options some more and see if I can figure something out. If anyone else has played this please report on the issue....or my stupidity...whichever the case may be.

Edit: It was a stupidity problem. There is an option in the game menu for full screen on/off that fixes the problem. Why there even needs to be an option for that I will never know. The size of the black border makes me think its to correct for over/under scan on some tvs. Anyway...problem solved.

Remember these are PS2 games. I don't remember if GoW1 supports widescreen but I know GoW2 did.

Check the options for WS support.

Don't remember any border on GOW2 when I played it through my PS2, had full widescreen support.

remember the output resolution was different on the PS2 most of the time though. PS2 will have been scaled by the TV. The PS3 ver is run natively by the console, so the TV will interpret the signal differently to a PS2 being hooked up.

Both GoWs were widescreen but were cropped from a 4:3 image... well, at least the first one was. Not sure about GOW2.
