Preloading as already started for the PC version and it unlocks midnight the day of release.

-They are selling 4 packs of L4D2 on Steam that break down to around $35 a piece if 3 of you guys want to go in on one. -

New special infected

The Charger: Similar to the Tank, but does less damage and has less health. Charges towards individual Survivors and knocks them down. If he grabs one in his massive arm, he can pummel the Survivor repeatedly unless another player stops it.

The Jockey: A small Infected who can leap short distances. He can jump onto a Survivor's back and guide them around; the player can only try to slow it down by moving in the opposite direction, while other players knock it off. Small and crawls on the ground, can be identified by its constantly cackling laugh.

The Spitter: A tall female Infected with an extended neck and corroded mouth. Spits corrosive "Spitter goo" for long distances, which will cause large patches of ground to be damaging to players. Watch out when getting in close; killing the Spitter will drop a puddle of harmful goo on the ground.

Riot Infected: Rent-a-riot-cops that were meant to maintain order and quarantine zones when the Infection hit. Their bulletproof armor means that you must knock them back and shoot them from behind. They drop nightsticks.

Hazmat Infected: Scientists who were trying to study the Infected. Guess the suits didn't work. Their suits are fireproof, making them immune to all fire damage. They drop Boomer Bile jars when killed.

Mudmen: Zombies covered in mud from the swamps. Their movement unhampered by mud or water (making them a threat in areas where Survivors are slowed down), they can crawl on all fours and cover up players' screens with mud when they attack.

Clown Infected: What's so dangerous about a clown? Well, their shoes squeak loud when they run towards players. And Infected are attracted to noise. You've got to be kidding.

Worker Infected: Construction workers wearing hardhats and ear protection. Likely to be more difficult to headshot, their earphones actually prevent them from being attracted to the noise of pipe bombs and certain crescendo events. More health than normal infected.

HEARTWARMER-In a Versus round, leave the saferoom to defibrillate a dead teammate.

STRENGTH IN NUMBERS-Form a team and beat an enemy team in 4v4 Versus or Scavenge.

QUALIFIED RIDE-As the Jockey, ride a Survivor for more than 12 seconds.

BACK IN THE SADDLE-As the Jockey, ride the Survivors twice in a single life.

RODE HARD, PUT AWAY WET-As the Jockey, ride a Survivor and steer them into a Spitter’s acid patch.

GREAT EXPECTORATIONS-As the Spitter, hit every Survivor with a single acid patch.

A SPITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS-As the Spitter, spit on a Survivor being choked by a Smoker.

SCATTERING RAM-As the Charger, bowl through the entire enemy team in a single charge.

MEAT TENDERIZER-As the Charger, grab a Survivor and smash them into the ground for a solid 15 seconds.

LONG DISTANCE CARRIER-As the Charger, grab a Survivor and carry them over 80 feet.

BEAT THE RUSH-In a Survival round, get a medal only using melee weapons.

HUNTING PARTY-Win a game of Scavenge.

GAS GUZZLER-Collect 100 gas cans in Scavenge.

CACHE AND CARRY-Collect 15 gas cans in a single Scavenge round.

SCAVENGE HUNT-Stop the enemy team from collecting any gas cans during a Scavenge round.

Left 4 Dead 2 features a much wider selection of weapons for the discerning zombicidal maniac. This increases the level of complication, as there may be multiple versions of each type of weapon within a tier. For instance, there are three different types of fully automatic assault rifles, each with different characteristics. To complicate matters further, weapons will not always appear in sets. Sometimes, powerful weapons will be scattered throughout the level.

In addition to new weapons, L4D2 will feature new ammunition types and weapon upgrades, like laser sights. While we know very little about the laser sight thus far, it seems to be able to increase the precision of your weapon.

Nice...good thread. I forgot the demo is available..about to download now. With so many games out, I really don't have the time to really enjoy them.

this game was some how flying under my radar, but after the demo and some really great user made L4D1 campaigns, I'm going full bore for L4D2 now.

Some personal moments so far.

-there's a new zombie called "the jockey". He jumps on one of the players backs and 'rides' them toward the nearest undead horde.

-there's a new mission mechanic where the survivors have to run to turn off an alarm that is alerting a never ending horde. Crazy intense and crazy fun. You'll leave some people for dead during these because you really can't stop to go back. Genius.

-the graphics take a leap in the details.
--Gun models are a ton better and now on par with any other AAA shooter.
--zombies have photo realistic jibs as evidenced in the high res gore pics in the OP. Some parts of the game end up looking downright nasty after a horde attack.

--lighting is still freaking tier one (on the PC version).
--the new 'here theeeey ccoooooommmee' music has a cool mardi gras twang now.

-it's L4D2 ffs.

DL'd and played through a good portion of the demo a few days back, can't wait to get back on it and try some more. The new zombies are definitely more of a challenge, the Chargers are a pain, especially if they get you when no one is close by to help. The Jockeys are tough to shoot as they come toward you, and the Spitters are an adjustment, couple times I backed into that goo unknowingly. I like the scattered melee weapons around the area. The Magnum is nice handgun upgrade with unlimited ammo. Looking forward to the full game.

Kam I am game for the PC version, I already have the 360 paid for from the Best BUy Buy two get one, but at $35, thats no biggie for a bump in graphics..
