Dunno... I suppose most PC gamers than can afford $8k speakers probably won't be playing on their PC hunched over hugging the screen. But I digress, I play on whatever platform I can get my hands on.

Console peasantry has nothing to do with the price of the system. It's the piece of mind that brings people to spend $1 per GB of storage space in 2009. $50 a year for the right to play P2P games on your own internet connection. $100 for a wireless adapter. $60 on a game.

So when someone says 'console peasant' they're not calling you financially poor, just mentally.

So in like terms a 'PC peasant' would be defined as someone who has the perception of saving $$ over console owners, only to realize they are constantly upgrading video cards or dealing with driver issues.

PC peasants paying less per game, getting free DLC and mods, getting in game extras and goodies like in the upcoming battlefield game, being able to host their own dedicated servers, and (usually) having software that scales to their hardware reasonably?

Doesn't sound like peasantry to me

I'll say it: Console gaming is like bracket racing where everybody is shuffled into an even playing field... PC gaming is more like run what ya brung, even comes with all the technical difficulties.

(BTW you don't *have* to upgrade your hardware constantly, and the money PC gamers typically save on purchasing games and DLC over two years will pay for a nice little upgrade every once in awhile)

Just my

Sadly, I missed out on maybe 10 years of titles because I've been a console dweller my whole life. TF, Half-Life, Unreal, KOTOR. Haven't played any of em. (Except Everquest). The games I have played, I am gimped on a keyboard. Hell, I didn't even know about Steam until today. That's the hole I've lived in. Although thinking about throwing L4D on my PC upstairs to see how much "better" the experience is.

I'm considering building an HTPC in the coming month or two, and it would be sweet to hook it up to the projector and 110" of goodness. Doesn't help that I'm also an achievement whore, and something would always steer me to the 360 version so I could whore up those achievements.

I thought this whole PC Vs. Console thing was a dead argument in an age where most of us own a gaming PC, 2 consoles, and a DS or a PSP? Seriously, play with what you like. For THIS game in particular I will say PC is the better choice, you don't have to agree. But name calling doesn't seem necessary.

PC's are fun, but all in all they are just another platform to play on gamewise and like all platfroms it has it's own set of good and bad things. As Marcallo says below "play with what you like", it's the best advice ever

I think the name calling in here is in jest (at least partially...)

Silence peasant!!! (I'm aware you prefer the PC version, hehe)

It's all in good fun. With the console war settling down we needed something else to fight about haha. So it became the platform war. Or something.

I've been a consoler longer than a PC'er, but this gen hands down the PC side won. Don't want to use a KB+M? Most games support 360 controllers out of the box (especially if its a Games for Windows title) and with a free USB driver you can use your Dualshock 3 (with rumble and Sixaxis support - BT is another can of worms) on it too. HDMI is the end all to "ZOMG what wire do I use" syndrome. Add to that probably 98% of all the 360's "exclusives" are on it and the PS3's exclusives only started the shine recently and welps...PC wins hands down

Amazon has dropped the ball recently on day and date delivery, they are the best bet when it comes to online purchases but dont expect day and date for some time..

Now you know how PC Gamers normally feel

It's odd as the UK Amazon ship things to arrive on or before release. All online retailers tend to do that for pre orders here though. My Girlfriend's Take That Singstar disc (released on Friday) has shipped today, and so should arrive on Thursday assuming it doesn't get caught up in the postal strike action thats going on here.

"The differences between versions aren't limited to the interface. Dragon Age doesn't look amazing on the PC, but it's an attractive game nonetheless. Zooming from an isometric view to a third-person perspective is slick, and while environments don't hold up quite as well when viewed up close, they're consistently lovely when viewed from above. On the flip side, the Xbox 360 version looks positively disappointing. Textures are highly compressed and colors are washed out, though the upside is that this version maintains a smoother frame rate than on the PlayStation. The PC version is the superior experience, but if you're choosing between the two console releases, the PlayStation 3 has the upper hand."

I would imagine it had something to do with the limitations of the storage medium. The PC requirements stated the game would need 20 GB of HDD space. While the PC can decompress everything back to it's original beauty, the 360 only has a limited amount of resources to work with. The PS3 on the other hand doesn't have to worry as much about the compression, so can keep everything looking purdier without having to compress at all or at least as much.

Oh that's disappointing. Maybe I should have gotten it for the PS3 or PC after all...

I haven't seen it yet so I don't know if it's true or not, but come on BioWare. Get your shit together. You've been programming games for Microsoft's platform for how long? 7 years? You should know how to work the system almost as well as Microsoft themselves...
