System freeze up with Uncharted 1

Does anyone know why Uncharted 1 keeps freezing up on level 11:Trapped? At first I thought it was just at this one spot, where you grab a mounted machine gun going up the stairs. I left this alone though and went through another gate. Just as I ran through, it froze up again. You cannot use this save file because when it starts loading the system freezes. The only way to get out is to turn the console off.

Update to firmware 3.01. If you look in the Uncharted review thread I made a post with a direct and instructions how to update via USB stick (much easier/safer IMO)

A lot of people were having the same issue with 3.0 and Uncharted, 3.01 should take care of it for ya.

No prob, and my mistake I listed the wrong thread. Here ya go:

How to update via USB stick:

Update data download procedure

1. Create a folder on the storage media in which to save the update data.
Using a PC, create a folder named “PS3” on the storage media or USB device. Within the PS3 folder, create a folder named “UPDATE”.
2. Download the update data and save it in the "UPDATE" folder created in step 1.

You can download the 3.01 firmware from here: http://dus01.ps3.update.playstation....6/PS3UPDAT.PUP

Keep in mind the 'PS3' and the 'UPDATE' folders must be all caps.

I was lucky with mine. I'm just on 3.00 (I heard some horror stories that 3.01 made other things even worse) but I only had 1 freeze up the entire way through Uncharted and that was in the run into the screen section where you are being pursued.

After the update I was able to finish the game. I thought it was very good. The graphics were great, but I think they'd be even better on my plasma. The PS3 is in our bedroom and hooked up to the 37" Bravia. I want to play 2 now.

I beat it in the first 48 hours I had the game, it would have been in the first 24 hours but work kind of got in the way

I am close to getting my first platinum, all I have left is treasures and finishing my hard and crushing playthroughs

This is why UK release days make more sense. Gettin it Friday give u friday night and all day sat an sun to cain the bitch

I just managed to hold off buying U2 today. I'm gettin the Steelbook collectors set with the gold guns etc so should really sell some stuff on ebay first.
