Default Solution PS360 users - Rocketfish PS3 Rapid Pad

Note sure if anyone stumbled across this.

It's basically a PS3 controller in a 360 casing.
Features:
  • Bluetooth Wireless
  • Rumble
  • Sixaxis
  • Concave Thumbstick Tops
  • Concave Triggers (ie like triggers)
I also saw a 3 or 6 foot USB cable included in the review. Sold only at Best Buy, as it is a Rocketfish product.

Here is a review:
http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/23/re...s3-controller/

Only complaint the dude seem to have is his girlie hands cant cover the Shoulder and Trigger buttons.

Anyways, stumbled across this and I know we got some recently new PS3 owners that prefer the 360 pad, so enjoy.

EDIT: And before Sal jumps in, from what I saw of the review and the images the analog pads are concave.

Sixaxis compatible?

I like it. Uncharted 2 would be much nicer with proper triggers and analogs.

Yeah, I'm going to edit my post.

It is basically a PS3 controller in a Xbox360 casing.

Cool. Only issue with some of the 3rd party pads is lack of sixaxis which can stick you in some games.

Might pick one up. I know Rocketfish is a BB house brand, so I wonder who really makes it. Almost looks Logitech, but probably Nyko or Mad Catz.

From the review I'd lean more towards Nyko. The material seems cheap at some points. I didn't listen to the whole review (skipped around) not sure if he mentioned anything on build quality. But he said it was a solid controller.

I have a question, just out of curiosity.
Are the PS3 L2 and R2 buttons analog like the 360 triggers?

SHould be. The PS2 introduced 100% all analog buttons.

I'm digging it. Looks to be a little bit bigger than the DS3 (which is good for me) and I don't have girlie hands so I probably won't have the reviewers problem with the l/r1 buttons. If that is an issue I suppose I could just grab an old 360 controller and perform some surgery.

Thanks Railven, I'm gonna have to pop in a store and check this out. Only thing I'm scared of is it might be made by Madcatz

I actually think that controller is pretty ugly. But it does have features other controllers are lacking. If anyone else is in an area where best buys are quite a drive here is a link to there online store.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1218106121312

I was looking at this one through amazon that Pinoy showed a pic of in another thread. I wasn't really impressed with the reviews though.

http://www.amazon.com/Shadow-6-Wirel...3845014&sr=8-5

I'm still using my converter to use an actual wired 360 pad on my PS3. I may look at getting one of those rocketfish's down the road simply for wireless and siaxis. I'll wait till something new comes out because I've hardly been playing my PS3 lately. In fact I don't think its even been turned on in 2 weeks.

Sure is enough to lure me back in. I hope it gets released early like some other PS3 exclusives. I got a 4 day weekend before the release of UC2, if I can get my dirty hands on it say Friday I'd be happy
