The fireplace is gas so no problems with soot. We have had the fireplace going for about the past week. There have been no heat problems as well. But we did not have the fireplace on high I has been kept on a med/low. Just to be safe.

First, excellent tv and congrats on your purchase.

I like to know why owners like yourself like to put the TV so high? It's a strain on the neck to constantly look up. It's like sitting in the front rows of a movie theater. It makes sense to place it high in a restaurants, bars, and any business location. Unless you plan to stand up to watch, I don't understand the placement.

The TV worked very good in that location. It was hight but the main seating was accross the room.

I have now moved to a new house and am having real issues on where to place my tv. As of now it is just sitting on a table at the end of the living room. Problem is I really like the wall mount but I have a window where I would mount it.

So I have quite the problem.
