I have noticed that there is a difference in size when I use VGA vs component to display my computer. When I use VGA and set the resolution to 1280x720, the projected image is taller than when I use component. It seems as though I end up with a 16:10 ratio using VGA since the image projects below my 16x9 screen whereas using component projects as I expect. Does this sound right, and is there any way to vertically compress the VGA signal to make it display the proper ratio?

Some projectors add overscan on their component inputs since it would expect a video source as opposed to a PC. That could account for the difference.
